Question Switching character perspective in dreams?

Just wondering if anyone ever switches perspectives of characters in their dreams? Sometimes I'm not even in them and I "take the role" (I guess you could say) of someone in my dream. Sometime I "switch roles" and sometimes I'm that character for the entire dream. These are always non-lucid.

Yeah, I've had those before too. One time halfway into a dream I morphed into Buffy (yeah, the slayer) and I started kicking ass...XD It wasn't lucid either.

I've also turned into a man once in my dreams, but I was still myself somewhat...that was a really weird one..

Usually, I'm myself in dreams, but lately I've been experiencing what it's like to actually take the role of other characters. Getting lost in another person's psyche can get intense, and it's all still slightly disconcerting.

      I blame Samael.

      My ears are burning.

Yeah, I've always switched characters in dreams. Sometimes in the middle of the dream itself.

I usually start a dream acting as a specific character. This character might be someone I thought up myself, or a character archetype, or a specific fictional character. Unless I become lucid at some point, I am utterly and completely convinced that I'm this character. This includes a backstory that I'll make up on the spot, if pressed. The characters are often of the opposite gender, and it doesn't occur to me until I wake up or become lucid that this isn't the case IRL.

I also have in-dream personas that I use repeatedly during unrelated dreams. At least one of these personas is the devil (look up "Samael"), and I use these personas to increase dream control during non-lucids. If my in-dream characters have telekinesis and a healing factor, I can be effectively invincible without being lucid.

During a dream, I might switch characters. However, since there's no break in consciousness, I'm more likely to switch into a character that somehow remembers the previous character's experiences. Like, last night, I was a teenaged girl being fed to a monster. When I beat the monster, the dream shifted. As one of my in-dream personas, a recurring DC and I had been playing a game against each other the whole time.

Did that make any sense? Dreams within dreams within dreams get really confusing really fast.

I pick up a half-eaten copy of a book by Neil Gaiman, and decide this is all his fault.

      Usually I am always myself.
But I do remember occasions where I have changed and became other people.
Such as a few months back i was myself then I was in 3rd person seeing a mummy thing try to kill me, then I WAS the evil thing trying to kill me? That was wierd. lol. Another time I was talking to this guy, then I switched and became the guy. There are other experiences too but It rarely happends.

I've sort of had that happen. I'll be dreaming from a third person perspective, like I'm watching a movie, and then I'll be participating in the dream. Usually I'm myself, though.

Once that I remember. I was walking around with this girl and then we run into a police car in front of her house and then I become her and enter the house carefully and I had to suffer being yelled at by my (her) dad...

I don't usually switch to being someone else, but I will occasionally shift to a 3rd person perspective for a brief time. It is like a cutscene in a FPS almost.
I don't usually think, therefore I mostly am not.

I can't say I've switched characters but I've switched from 1st to 3rd perspective. One minute I'm trying to escape something and then I'm hovering over myself and watching it all happen. I get very detached when it happens almost like I'm an alien watching myself like I might watch an ant. Curious but apathetic. Switching genders are the weird ones though, sometimes in the middle of a dream even... I guess that's kinda like switching characters.

^I'm often switching from first to third person in dreams. Being in third person feels more like watching a movie and is not quite as exciting as first person though

I've never switched from one perspective to another in my dreams, but I have been characters and other people before.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.
