That's never happened to me that I know of, and sounds strange. I don't know how that would be possible. Maybe you're just making up the two characters, and make up that they don't know about one another, like if you were writing a book and had two characters with different minds. If it isn't that, I don't know. Hopefully you don't have some split personality disorder that only happens during dreams. |

Oh. This is not something happens in all of my dreams. The majority of my dreams are not like this. This is just something that happens to me quite often in dreams. |

Sounds like a problem to me. Check your TCP/IP settings. |

I've never had two independent thinking minds but I have perceived from two different perspectives at once. Splitting myself in two fighting as two people at once. |

Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake
Sometimes I remember knowing things that my character was unaware of. Like, something will surprise my character but I'll somehow know how it got there. That might just be me making inferences afterward though. |

You lose all sense of direction once you're under water.
These are the things that blow my mind. I don't know about you but when i see something epic and the collective is afraid of it i know i'm looking in the right direction. |

There is a possibility that you had two dreams and just thought they were the same dream, like a continued/recurring dream just from a different perspective because I don't understand how someone can have two consciousnesses but not be aware of what's going on with the other and then remember controlling both at the same time... |

It very may well have been two dreams that your memory, in an attempt to remember, patched together thinking they were the same dream. What's difficult to comprehend is how both minds could have no knowledge of the other yet they were both controlled by your singular consciousness simultaneously. It's certainly not impossible I suppose, as we have many characters in our dreams that are just controlled by our mind without us being aware of them or their thoughts - and the mind is capable of some incredible things; but actually simultaneously "existing" within two perspectives and consciousnesses at once is something, not only difficult to grasp & visualize, but difficult to imagine how it could work in the singular mind. How do you know you were both consciousnesses if each was independent of the other and unaware of the other? You realized this when you woke up or during the dream? It would seem that to be able to realize this during the dream is impossible as it would link the two consciousnesses, and you said they were totally independent. |

Ok, i found you and this site while googleing this experience, and after an hour of searching i am relieved to find someone who has any base with this. The only difference with me is that lying in my bed being me was one consciousness and the other was my dream character. I have been a lucid dreamer since i can remember dreaming, always in control of my character and surroundings, but last night it was something totally different. It was pretty weird, i would love to hear if you know or have any information on this, its something i would love to train. |
