I remember my biggest dream plots 1-3 hours after I wake up?

Has anyone else experienced this? This has only happened to me twice so far, but it's interesting. I would wake up right after a dream has ended and I would remember nothing at all about the biggest dream I had, but I would remember like the smaller dreams that weren't as rich.

For example, I woke up last night and I didn't remember any dreams. 3 hours later, I suddenly remember the most vivid, interesting, adventurous dream I had last night... first just a glimpse of it, then more and more details come back to me and eventually I remember every single thing that happened.

i think i may have triggered this because i did something in real life that was similar to something i did in my dream, not exact- but similar.

      anyone else experience this?

Yeah I definitely trigger memories throughout the day when something reminds me of the dream. However this never happens with the longest or most exciting dreams for me. Most of the time I'll remember insignificant flashes that don't relate to any other dream memories throughout the day. Thats pretty cool that it is working that way for you, it's like a dream recall backup

Yeah, I've had dreams come to mind in the middle of the day. It's pretty interesting.

This is actually happening to me a lot now I'm frequently having to edit my dream journals to add something I just remembered. And it's always because I either have a thought or do something that is related to my dream.. and I have a brief "deja-vu" moment, not very long because I remember right away that I had dreamed it. That's when all the details come to me.
