      Dream had strange side effects

      Hello,

I had a dream about two days ago where I met up with a girl who I know in reality. I kissed her DC and she was very romantically interested in me. The dream itself was incredibly realistic and towards the end of it I noticed the unlikeliness of the situation and started hoping it wasn't a dream till I woke up (which I suppose was fortunate, because that's why I remember it).
But since then I have fallen for the actual girl in question, I mean I didn't really like her before, I used to joke about it but I didn't actually like her and now I'm crazy about her.

Is this likely to wear off, what can I do about it (if anything) and has this happened to anyone else before? Any similar experiences or general comments are appreciated.

Emotions in dreams tend to be more powerful than those in real life. And, as with many emotions in dreams, they can linger after you wake up. Just keep telling yourself that she isn't real... Although it doesn't hurt to indulge every once in a while, especially if the person isn't real.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

No but she is real, the dream character isn't of course but the dream character was just a copy of a real person I know. It's the real person I'm crazy for, not the DC.

Ah, sorry, I misread the post.

      That's been known to happen!
Whether you should listen to your feelings on this one is up to you, although know that her personality can turn out to be radically different if you have a relationship with her. DCs are funny as in they can be laid-back or act differently than the real person. If you don't let your emotions go anywhere and don't pursue a relationship, I'm guessing it should wear off.

Ok, thanks for your advice, I'll probably not do anything and hope that this feeling goes away, if it doesn't then I might act upon it

I have never had that happen to me before, and if you like her more then a friend that's fine there is nothing wrong with it. So this is the first time you ever had a dream like this? It sounds like it is but I just wanted to be sure.
Lucid dreaming takes three things: Patience, practice, and perseverance.

I have once or twice but it's never had a kick to it quite like this before, mostly just a pleasant experience. I have a suspicion that this actually strengthened feelings I already had buried very deep.
