sleeping during the day = more vivid dreams?

okay so my question is, could sleeping at day time; e.g. 11 am -2:30 pm cause vivid dreams?

because i had woken up after 4 hours sleep driven from a one town to another (about 1:30 hours) stayed up for another hour and then gone to bed again at 11 am and i had some Weird, vivid dreams hahaha.

I really have no idea if sleeping during day time hours actually has a significant effect on dream vividness and dream recall. However, I do have experience with this, and, it would seem as though it does. Maybe only because we think it could produce a better, more "recall-able" dream if we are to sleep during the day. In my experiences, I almost always have a vivid recollection of a dream upon awakening from a mid-day nap. Dunno why, could be because are brains are not ready, nor need an NREM sleep cycle, because the body is not fatigued and does not need repair. Thus, putting is into only REM Cycles, and giving us some very vivid dreams. Hope this helps a little! Happy dreaming.

Oh wow very interesting, perhaps you are right its amazing how the body works,

so that could mean if you miss a nights sleep then the next nights sleep will have significantly less rem time?

and yes it did help thankyou sir :p

when you nap, that means you didn't sleep alot during the night, so the REM that you didn't have you will have during the nap. Also because you are very aware before the nap, you would have a higher chance for a LD (DILD and WILD).
      Hope I cleared things out

I fill my heart with fire, with passion, passion for what makes me nostalgic. A unique perspective fuels my fire, makes me discover new passions, more nostalgia. I love it.

You did pretty much a long WBTB, which causes vivid and longer dreams. Some time ago, before industrial revolution and itīs 8 hour sleep lifestyle, and before the lamp invention, oh and also before hypnotic/sleep pills many people had a very similar sleep schedule, now called byphasic sleep. That explains to some degree why dreams were more valued once, and less now.

Check your memory, did any suprising event happpen ? does the present make sense ? visualize what you will do when lucid, and how. Reality check as reminder of your intention to lucid dream tonight. Sleep as good as you can; when going to sleep, relax and invite whatever comes with curiosity. Grab your dream journal immediately as you awake and write everything you can recall (if only when you wake up for good). Keep calm, positive and persistent, and don't forget to have fun along the way
