      Question Attitudes of Dream Characters

I'm just wondering if it's normal to have most of your dream characters hate/dislike you. Dream characters in my dream don't usually want to interact with me, and in some cases some try to threaten me. And this is all of the dream characters I come into contact with. Sometimes when I'm in danger, I'd ask one if they could help me, but they usually frown at me and disappear.

Some of the dream characters that threaten me turn my dreams into a nightmare.

Would anyone know why my dream characters are hostile?

This suggests a lack of self-esteem. Since dream characters are parts of yourself, if you don't like yourself, your dream characters aren't going to like you.

This happened to me often when I first started focusing on developing my interactions with DC's. They were almost always hostile when I tried to tell them they weren't real. I kept it up though, and am glad I did, having significant conversations with DC's is one of my greatest LDing pleasures.

I got in the habit of derailing the really bad DC's by interrupting them and asking "What do you represent?" and having them explain to me what insecurity or worry I had that was the root of there presence in my dream. They were always docile after explaining, and I learned a lot about myself in the process.

My DCs in non-lucid dreams are quite like regular people I encounter in the waking world: they run the gamut from friendly to aggressive, lovers to enemies, endless talkers to quiet and unassuming. Once lucid, my DCs tend to be quiet and a bit skittish. I barely can get a couple words out from them, but I intend to really work on that.

DCs are going to be a mixture of how you view people, how you think people view you, how you view DCs, and how you think DCs view you.

Do you see a main thing here?

When I am lucid dreaming or non lucid dreaming, I am constantly being hit on by hot women. I don't think that this comes from "Thinking I am super hot", but the fact that I used to think I was pretty ugly and now I have ascended to "acceptable", so when I see women, I don't think that they are going to be appalled by me. I also think that this has to do with the fact that DC women do love me and I think that in the back of our minds, we know to some extent that we are dreaming.

I rarely have problems with electronics in dreams or people understanding me, trouble finding things, or missing something like I used to, I think that this is a sign of confidence growing in waking and in sleeping. I am not worried all the time that I am going to fail at something, this worry will result in "worry dreams". I am not stressed that I am going to overload myself and forget things, this will result in nightmares. Be relaxed and confident in who you are in waking and dreaming. If you are not, the problem might be self esteem, but there is always the option that you might need to change to be more confident. Take care of yourself, show up to things on time, be there for people, work hard, be the best you can be, and then being confident will be a lot easier.

This also goes for dreaming. Take care of your sleeping patterns, go to bed on time, don't worry about anything going wrong in the dream, work hard to LD, be the best that you can be without working hard enough to stress or worry about the dreams. Know at the end of the night that you did your best, and then being confident will be a lot easier.

It's a fascinating topic. Personally, in my NLDs DCs usually behave more or less like the waking-life counterparts they represent; in LDs, they usually don't react to me or what I do nor talk to me unless I approach them first. Which, interestingly, is pretty much how I behave in waking-life. I'm about as far removed from being a social person as it gets.
