I have definitely found that getting good sleep is crucial for LDing. My earlier days of trying way too hard got to be counter productive at times and left me with some pretty hazy days at times as well. |

Try being tired when going to sleep. Doing exercise, wether it's mental or physical can make you sleep more and better. |

I do that too. I did that when I was in college and I still do that sometimes. The only drawbacks to that are that, as you said, it may cause you to not feel tired when you need to go to bed. So, I recommend that you don't do it that often. |

Regular bedtimes & wake times help a lot, as does good sleep "hygiene" -- only use the bed for sleeping, have a clean & orderly bedroom, keep the room dark and quiet (or use a sleep mask & ear plugs) and comfortable temperature wise, etc. |
