      See grid pattern upon waking

This might not be the best place to ask this but the site isn't quite what it used to be so I am going for the most views.

Very frequently I will wake up either from a dream state or a non remembered state and I will see a grid pattern in the dark or other dreamlike hallucinations. Mostly its is a grid pattern. And it's very organic and distorted. Not evenly distributed at all. It moves and flows. This has been going on for quite some time. I am not too concerned but I am highly curious. I don't know if this is from my past psychedelics experiments or if its just lingering natural DMT but it's very odd. What do you all think?

I think you should ask the dream the next time you are lucid. Good luck! I hope you find some answers.

I don't have a drawing and I am fully awake and out of bed walking to the bathroom.

      could you draw the grid?
or, have you seen the grid design anywhere online?

Are you saying this is happening while you're awake, not dreaming?

That has happened too, to me, when in very dark rooms, or if I put my hands over my eyes and meditate. Not a grid pattern, but other patterns. Fractals, swirling blue light. Once I saw what looked like the galaxy. Once it was a bright green light that stayed even after I opened my eyes. I don't pay much attention to that.

I think it is totally natural and perhaps it happens more to people who have developed their visualization skills. I never see total blackness even mid-day if I am in the dark. When I wake up in the dark I see all sorts of translucent lines, and spots.

Not really. That kind of implies a partially asleep state. This is more like the stuff I talk about in the visualization class. If I shut myself in a totally dark closet, it is in no way totally black. the merest thought of a shape will excite some small amount of action in my visual field. Left to no mental input the visual field will have simple colors or vauge impressions of shapes that slowly morph and move about. It is very subtle, but my visualization portions of my neural paths have been highly developed. I assume every person alive has this sort of stuff in there visual field but it is perhaps too subtle for the waking mind to realize.
