      I can read...?!

Okay, I know that in dreams you're not supposed to be able to read...but I sort of can. I don't really remember exactly what the words are all the time when I wake up, but I remember seeing words and deciphering them. For example, in one dream I was auditioning for a play and I could see the first line and read it perfectly, but I guess it was only a one time thing because when I looked back it was all fuzzy like I needed some reading glasses. Then, last night I had a dream that I was walking towards a building which had, written over the door, "_____ Tavern" I can't remember the first word but I remember it began with an 's'.

As far as I know, some people can read in their dreams.

Yes, you can read in dreams and you don't even have to be lucid for that.

You can read in dreams, it's just rare. The text may change though, just like on a dream watch/clock. I've read about it, and also writing and doing math is rare too. I remember writing something in a dream before. Maybe it was just drawing.
If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.

I can 100% guarantee you that I've read in dreams, but the thing is that I've forgotten the words from the dreams. I distinctly remember waking up once and remembering how I read a word. I can't remember the full word, but I DO remember it started with "Ro".

You mentioning a tavern remind me of a dream I had about a year ago. I saw this written on a golden sign over the door of a cheap bar:

      The Pirates
      90% beer
      All with straws

And the words are longer in my own language.

In a dream I had last night I read a full sentence, and it remained that way.

In another dream, I was fiddling with my alarm clock, trying to turn it off, and for the alarm button, instead of saying "alarm", it said "je dours", which is french gibberish. I put it down and walked away from it a few times yet the text remained the same.

It's possible to read, it's just impossible to re-read. The words will be different.

Were those names written down, and did you read them and reread them a second time?

It is common for people to have trouble reading in dreams. Does not mean it is impossible. Does not mean it is unlikely, either... It happens often. To many people. And those with better dream recall (i.e. us.) would have a better chance of remembering it.
      Bollocks.

Yeah, it's definitely possible to re-read things Arutad. When it comes to dreaming, pretty much everything is.

Here, I have to disagree, I has re-read many times, up to 5 or 6 times, and the most change is a letter with no accent to one with accent... or "el" for "del"
But yeah, reading isn't impossible, just as electronics work for some people, just that its common they don't <.<
