Okay, I know that in dreams you're not supposed to be able to read...but I sort of can. I don't really remember exactly what the words are all the time when I wake up, but I remember seeing words and deciphering them. For example, in one dream I was auditioning for a play and I could see the first line and read it perfectly, but I guess it was only a one time thing because when I looked back it was all fuzzy like I needed some reading glasses. Then, last night I had a dream that I was walking towards a building which had, written over the door, "_____ Tavern" I can't remember the first word but I remember it began with an 's'. |

Yes, you can read in dreams and you don't even have to be lucid for that. |
You can read in dreams, it's just rare. The text may change though, just like on a dream watch/clock. I've read about it, and also writing and doing math is rare too. I remember writing something in a dream before. Maybe it was just drawing. |

I can 100% guarantee you that I've read in dreams, but the thing is that I've forgotten the words from the dreams. I distinctly remember waking up once and remembering how I read a word. I can't remember the full word, but I DO remember it started with "Ro". |
You mentioning a tavern remind me of a dream I had about a year ago. I saw this written on a golden sign over the door of a cheap bar: |
I've read in my dreams before. I was looking something up my notes, but all I found was a piece of paper saying to look at the first paper I'd written. o.0 |
I read the same thing written at two different points in the dream, but not when I looked away and then looked back. |
i can read in my dreams. the problem with words in dreams is that they are very unstable, if you look at a word once then look away and then look back it could be something entirely different, which is a great way to realize you are dreaming |

Law abiding citizen by day, breaking the laws of reality by night.
"How can you be aware that you're dreaming, if you're never aware that you're awake?"
In a dream I had last night I read a full sentence, and it remained that way. |

It's possible to read, it's just impossible to re-read. The words will be different. |

It is common for people to have trouble reading in dreams. Does not mean it is impossible. Does not mean it is unlikely, either... It happens often. To many people. And those with better dream recall (i.e. us.) would have a better chance of remembering it. |
Bollocks.
Here, I have to disagree, I has re-read many times, up to 5 or 6 times, and the most change is a letter with no accent to one with accent... or "el" for "del" |

Yeah, it's definitely possible to re-read things Arutad. When it comes to dreaming, pretty much everything is. |
You're scaring me slightly. I used the re-reading trick every time when I became confused and couldn't tell whether I was in a LD or reality. So far it never failed. |
I re-read the time in a dream car last night and it was the same time, I checked it twice because right after I looked the first time, outside changed from pitch black to an extremely sunny O_o |
I was scrapbooking in a dream, and one thing that I had done "previously" was a word stamp, and it said hello or something |

I can read in dreams too, but the text doesnt make sense when I read it. |
I always thought that re-reading the text is not connected to the expectations but to the limits of brain-work in dreams and that it can't be a subject to the dream control. Now I'm not entirely convinced of that either, what people say is not completely convincing, one saw single names written, another time on the clock. |
Also before I had my final exam at math I actually did some practice in my dream. That involves both reading and writting. So it is posibble, however, usually it doesn't make sense but its still something interesting to do. |
There is no such thing as "impossible".
A couple nights ago, I had a very long dream, and I remember clearly reading big signs with lots of words. I don't remember the words, but they were clear. |
