Thread: Dream World Hypophsis

Welcome to beginners philosophy ...

Viewing the world from this perspective is possible in the sense that we can not truly disprove it, but also as unlikely as gravity suddenly deciding to pack its bags and just let matter float around by itself.

I would not go as far as to call it feasible, but if you would like to further explore the idea, go with possible and see where it leads you.

Sorry, but what is "hypophsis?" Do you mean "hypnosis"?

I've often thought of this myself.

Hypothesis is what i meant, It means like a theory, cause its a theory that where all in a dream world right now, Hypothesis is a scientific idea.

Anyway, from what I have learned on my onerionautical journeys is this:

We are dreaming right now, but we are also awake. When we die, our spirits go into the dream plane until we are born again. My experience with dreams led me to Tibetan Buddhism, then Nichiren Buddhism.

Anyway, you should check out dream yoga. It's crazy.

To answer your question: Yes, it is possible. No, I don't think anyone has been successful in proving this theory.

Now, going a little off topic: Nomad, your theory is very interesting, do you think that once we are 'born again' we can remember some of our past life's events through dreams?
Don't you think that during a lucid we could create some type of vault in which we can store memories, and leave it in a place where we know our future self will find it, during a dream? I have just been wondering this for the past couple of weeks, and hadn't found a time to ask you.

That is a badass idea. A time capsule in dreams.... This could be used for many things.

Most people have total recall between lives, I think.

Lol this is like how most things are founded on, is this most likely true? No, but if there a way of proving it's not true? Nope.

Something i have noticed is that for some reason whenever i think as far away from reality as possible like when i think about space and how it just keeps going on and on, my mind doesnt think the same way. Whenever i think of that it always ends with like a movie set since thats what my mind thinks will make that possible or its the only way how i could actually see it.
