Broken up with GF because of lucid dream sex

Hey, my girl friend broke up with me this afternoon. She said she had heard my friends saying that I had sex with girls in some lucid dreams. Its pretty random haha iv only had a couple sex lucid dreams since I got started in lucid dreaming. Obviously this wasnt the only reason, the relationship hadnt been working recently and shit so yea but it was funny that she brought that up.

So I was wondering has anyone been dumped or had trouble in a relationship because of dream sex?

S*** man, that's really bad. Your lucid dreaming obviously wasn't her problem so you're probably better off in the long run but still, my heart goes out to you.
I could answer your question but the truth is I've never had a girlfriend so that doesn't relly apply to me

Haha nah im pretty sure it was more about the other probs in the relationship. To be honest im so fuckn happy atm. It has been shit for a while and now its all good! Just funny that she mentioned it.

What would be really funny is if the girls in your Lucid Dreams broke up with you because you cheated on them with a real woman. Or, you could make your "reality check" something like ... "can I see my penis?" I personally don't think sex in lucid dreams means a damn thing. If you consider the amount of time and energy "most" teens expend thinking about getting laid, it's only normal that this happens in dreams. If only the real women were as eager eh?

sorry to hear about this -- break ups are never fun even if we know it was meant to not be.

I have heard of lucid dream sex causing jealousy problems before. It's complex - because most assume that if you're lucid you should "be true" to your partner but often in lucid dreams we actually do not remember important parts of our real life. I coach people to make an arrangement with their partner (for example I promise I won't incubate lucid sex dreams, but I'm not going to feel guilty about having a sexual dream if it happens!). Trust is what it's all about at the end of the day (and the beginning of the night).

Yea hard! Ever since I got into lucid dreaming at the start of the year iv changed so much. Im very spiritual now and used to be a hard out bogan who didnt think there was anything after death. Now im really keen to get a girl whos into dreaming and spiritual and just has a lot more in common.

I'm not finding this very funny. This has been warned about in the past, but people seem to not care because they get into a logical argument about whether or not it means anything to have lucid dream sex-- which is doesn't, really. However, people can be irrational.
I'm just wondering a two things:

- Why were you bragging to your friends about LD sex

- Why are your friends douchey enough to tell your girlfriend about it

Yea it was mainly other factors and stuff but she was saying I hate hearing from your friends about you having dream sex with girls or something. I tell all my mates about my dreams as their really interested in LDing and have told them about the few sex LDs iv had but yea I dont know if they told her, im sure she must have overheard or something. Or maby shes just crazy haha that wouldnt surprise me!

But yea its all good anyway cos im happy as larry! It was such a beautiful hot day today and there were lovely ladies everywhere

The subject of "Cheating" is an interesting one. I think everyone has their own definition of what cheating is, and I have found that it helps to talk with the significant other about what THEIR definition is. For many people cheating has to involve actual penetration. For others, it can be holding hands, or even if your girlfriend is sharing intimate details of her life with some other dude. Is it cheating if some dude kisses your girlfriend on the cheek? Or, does it have to be slipping her the tongue? Is oral sex cheating? What if your boyfriend is seen holding hands under the lunch table with some other girl? He didn't actually have SEX with her (that you know of) so is that cheating???

This stuff could make you crazy....so I think it's good to have an open discussion about it early on. Can you imagine if you fell in love with some chick, and LONG after you're serious, you found out that she doesn't consider oral sex with someone else CHEATING......and she has no guilt about doing it??
