      Lucidity when not trying

Hello cats and kittens! I just had a wicked awesome LD, the most incredible of my life, and it was in a period of relative personal disinterest in LDing. I hadn't thought about it for a couple of weeks, laid down for a nap, and BOOM! Extreme lucidity!

This is nothing foreign to me; my best luck at LDing comes AFTER I've binged on the idea. Bummer!

So I'm wondering if this is common. Am I just lazy and lucky, or does this happen to others?

My lucids tend to be completely sporadic. Sometimes I get bursts of them when I'm relatively disinterested, but sometimes I get them when I really go to town on awareness during the day.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I got my lucid dream when I quit this forum and came back. I did this again and I got another lucid dream. It's like my subconscious doesn't want me to quit. This time, I'm staying here for good.

My DILDs usually happens every week, sometimes one, two or even three times/week (but it's usually 1-2), they just happens randomly, so I voted in the last option.

I had my last two lucid dreams when I wasn't trying particularly hard to have any. I still wanted to have lucid dreams, but I didn't put any effort into any particular techniques. I just went back to sleep, vaguely thinking that I would like to have a lucid dream, but not really caring if I didn't.
I think it is easier to have lucid dreams with this mindset because then I'm not worrying, or thinking too much about it, so I'm not creating the mental blocks that I usually have.
