I definitely think it's a good start though as dreaming happens within the mind an understanding of more about the mind is a good starting point

      Radio host, and musician here!!
Do not try and bend the spoon--that's impossible. Instead only try and realize the truth...there is no spoon. Then you will see that it is not the spoon that bends

      it is only yourself

This is so true, as an Artist myself, I can clearly say that one of my most Cherished creations actually stem from one particular Passive Lucid Dream I had.

I would like to pursue a career in teaching LD on a seminar circuit. I am currently blogging about it, thinking about writing a book in the future (when I have enough material), and seriously considering getting an B.S. in Psychology.

I'm a psychotherapist who's worked addictions. I have heard several stories of people curing opiate cravings with DMT trips used therapeutically. I'm curious if Lucid dreaming could be the next generation of therapy based on altered states to work with problems such as addictions. With an addict, there is a canyon of disconnect between their executive function and their phylogenically ancient cephalic regions.

Really interesting thread. One of the main reasons I decided to study psychology in University was my interest in lucid dreaming .

I think another potential field for lucid dreaming enthusiasts is entrepreneurship.

Lucid dreaming is starting to become more mainstream and is taken more seriously by scientists. Even the renowned physicist Michio Kaku made a video talking about the scientific validity of lucid dreaming.

Popular movies like inception have also helped to expose many people to the concept of lucid dreaming.

There is an explosion of engineers trying to design machines that can help people induce lucid dreams. The algorithms for detecting REM sleep have improved, and the designs of masks have become more user-friendly, but it's not quite there yet.

If you can design a device that is effective, sleek, convenient, and cheap, you have the potential to make lucid dreaming more accessible to the rest of the world.

You don't even necessarily have to go to university to learn how to build these devices. There are many resources on line to learn computer programming and basic electrical engineering.

Let's face it, a lot of people aren't willing to put in the work to consistently write down their dream journal, perform reality checks, or practice the WILD technique.

A device that can help to induce lucid dreams can be door way to for people to explore the other philosophic and spiritual aspects of lucid dreaming.

      Hi nina,

Useful topic for working in a field that members of this forum would enjoy. Gotta love your job or life sucks.

      Good comprehensive list.

To the list I would add:

      Reiki Practitioner (or teacher)
      Meditation Instructor
