      Are nightmares worth the lucid?

sorry if some things dont make sense my n key is broke and i really have to jam it dow to get the letter out. for most people icluding myself, itese fear is the most powerful dream sig. over a fifth of my DILD's have come from havig a nightmare, and ive caught every one since begiing lucid dreamig. ive been goig through a dry spell ow and ive bee thikig that i might finally break it if i ca get a nightmare or at least an unpleaset dream. however i dont kow if its worth tryig, ill have to go through the fear of the nightmare while it lasts, and if i dont break out of my dryspell and have to deal with the nightmare, it wont be pleaset. any thoughts? again sorry about some of the missig 's.

It is worth it indeed, sometimes I induce nightmares in a lucid for the trill it gives me.

Are you going to somehow induce a nightmare? How do you do this?
I've just learnt how to induce nightmares as a special task from my mentor.
I was having a recurring nightmare about doctors, so I spent my waking hours visualizing having the nightmare, becoming lucid (with no fear), and asking the doctors what they represent.
You can read about it here:

im not talking about from lucid to nightmare (though i may try that eventually) im talking about trying to get from nightmare to lucid, but dont know if i should try to have a nightmare just in case i miss becoming lucid and have to wake up in a cold sweat.

I would recommend trying to focus your energy on the exciting feelings of the day.
I've just taken a MILD class and we were taught to associate our strongest feelings of the day with lucid dreams:
      - Get excited during the day that you are going to have a lucid dream soon
      - Imagine yourself in a particular scene, realizing you are dreaming
      - Try to silence your stray thoughts before sleeping
      - Focus only on the scenery of the dream you want to have as you fall asleep

I found these tips really useful, and would recommend trying to induce a nice dream before inducing a nightmare.
If you think a nightmare will work better for you though, follow the same method except focus on a nightmare situation, minus the fear.
Imagine realizing you are dreaming during the nightmare.

      Good luck!

not much luck, i can get scary dreams, but lots of times they come out as exciting, to get lucid i need pretty strong fear. i think the best way to break the dryspell is to learn to WILD though, but maybe ill continue with this a little.
