The part about different sides of yourself sounds like quantum jumping to me. The idea that we have numerous different personalities -or turnouts of our lifes-. I've heard of opening a door, asking for the side if yourself that can solve the problem you need, asking them for the answer, then leaving. I personally think that this is a form of witchcraft since god has all knowledge and the answer isn't found inside yourself. Look up Burt Goldman.
