Uh, I'm pretty sure there aren't any known real health benefits. Fun benefits, sure. Health, not so much.

Well see that's a problem. There is no evidence that lucid dreaming leads to more REM sleep. Dreaming occurs during REM, but doesn't appear to cause it. Similarly, there is no evidence to support dream healing. Dreaming can be used to help deal with fears and phobias, but is unlikely to rid you of them entirely, especially in the cases of deep-running traumatic experiences. I suppose it could help the occasional person who suffers from chronic nightmares, but compared to perhaps more conventional treatments (i.e. sleep aids), is the amount of time and effort that needs to be put into LD for the average person both plausible and worth it?

Did you try reading (of course) Dr. Stephen (Steven?) Laberge's book? "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" goes into dream healing and such.

Really? It would be interesting to know if any observed results were due to the placebo effect or not.

I don't see how that post could be considered trolling. I also don't see the need for your post.

@The OP Serious advice here. 1) You cannot use DV as a source it is a forum and not credible for a paper. 2) Pick a different topic.

Because he is normally trolling. And he is a self proclaimed troll.

And that was a really good post that he made so I said that he is good at other things than trolling. Happy?

And I don't think telling him to do a different topic is good, he just might want to change the question. There is many things to write about LD.

Dak I read it as "Obviously trolling is your only skill". Sorry. Just try to make posts that advance the conversation.

Changing the question and changing the topic are the same thing. Writing about dreams is a good idea just not the benefits. And please don't use DV as a source.

Yes. This is what gave me my idea for my paper, the idea that LD can be used for medical resions is fasinating to me. But I need an on-line source.....

Ok, What in the world is trolling?

Also, some examples on how lucid dreaming can affect your health; It can help those with depression, eating dissorders (you eat to much), and it has some small effect on those with mentil dissorders though it is not yet known how much an effect it has. Obvously it dosent cure people of mentile disorders.

I think the effects of lucid dreaming are cool. The issue is lucid dreaming doesn't have a lot of credible information surrounding it. I think you should post some of the requirements for this paper, eg. length, number of sources, what sources are allowed.

I can't find any websites that look good and seem credible for you to use.

Also please don't double and triple post. Just edit your other post.

My paper has to have 5 sources: 2internet, 1 book, 1 mewspaper or magazine article, 1 other. Wikipedia is not alowed... It needs to be 4 pages long and the bibliography needs to be in mla format.

      Sorry about the triple posting....

Well if you have time I would really switch topics. I just don't think it's possible to find the information you're looking for.

although for a magazine this might be acceptable.

More general LD topic might be better.

There aren't many internet scholarly sources on LDing. Many are blogs and how-to sites.

It would be hard to dig up the needed sources on general LD alone, yet alone healing. Sorry, but I don't think you're going to be able to do your report on LD. It's a lot of fun, but...that's about it. Most of the other material is pure speculation (i.e. dream healing, shared dreaming, remote viewing, etc) and has not been verified by any scientific source. You could possibly extend your report to examine the physical and psychological effects of sleep and dreaming in the most general terms, for which there is ample research.

Oi, I noticed your siggy: "a room without books is like a body without a sole"

The bottom of your foot is the sole. The spirit embedded in each human as some beliefs suggest is spelled "soul."
