Is it possible to dream about becoming lucid?

Like, you dream about becoming aware and having control, but you really don't?

I don't see why not. In fact, I think this has happened to me before, but I'm not entirely sure, it may have just been a semi-lucid or something similar.

Yes, it's happened to me multiple times. It's as if becoming lucid is simply part of the dream plot, just like flying, running away or other things, but I'm not aware at all. Having awareness or consciousness, or feeling like you're mentally present in the dream, is what separates the real LDs from the "false" ones.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.
