Question What's the name for when a certain sound plays in your head when you go to sleep?

I'm planning to do some research on a potential Lucid Dreaming technique, and if anyone could tell me if there's a name for when a certain sound such as music, or someones voice plays in your head, I would appreciate it.

Don't know if I'm teaching you to suck eggs, but are you meaning hypnagogic hallucinations or something more specific?

If you're talking about music stuck in your head, then it could be this: Earworm - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It's not quite either of those. I'm not sure if there is a name for it though. What I mean is like this: if you've ever WILDed before, you need to meditate in order to clear your mind. When you're mind is processing things that happened to you during the day. I said like a music track, but it could also be something someone said, or something you read. I want to what your mind is doing when you experience that. Will that help?

I'm not talking about actually hearing things. I just mean when you stop doing things during the day and you lie in bed at night, or stop thinking about something in particular and meditate or relax during the day, you remember things that have happened to you during the day. Say you spent a lot of time playing halo, you might start thinking about playing halo for no reason except that you played it earlier that day.

What I was wondering was, if there was a name for when your mind goes over the experiences of the day, so I could find a way to be able to influence what sections of the day stand out. If I could find that out, I could find a way to be thinking about a certain song before I go to sleep, that I put subliminal messages into, so i'm thinking about them at night. Does anyone know if there is a name for this phenomenon, or if there is a way to influence it? I've had times where I thought of song I listened to was in my head at night, but it seem random for the most part, and not just what I listened to the most during the day.

When you put subliminal messages in, do you mean you'd change the lyrics of the song so they'd be an affirmation about lucidity or something?

I know what you mean about this now. In my experience it only happens with something you're new to. If you play a game for the first time and spend a long time playing it with intense concentration, it sort of plays in your mind when you go to sleep. Also happens when you've started a new job. But the effect wears off when the action becomes routine.

Thank you! That's exactly what I was asking. And no, I don't mean changing the lyrics, I mean adding a audio track of the affirmation just quite enough to not hear it, but still be hearing it. I mean you don't hear what it says, but your subconsciousness can figure it out. I didn't think about lyrics as well either, as not all music has them. I wonder if they affect affirmations. BTW Thanks again.
