What's the point of reality checking through the day, if it's to confirm dreaming?

Like why not just use all day awareness, which will help dild alot more?

It makes reality checking become a natural part of your day, so when you dream and you have repressed awareness you do it automatically.

Regular reality checking and regular questioning of your surroundings works. You can't try to be aware all day, its too easy to be distracted in reality and in dreams anyhow.

If you don't do it during the day, then you won't do it in your dreams. You don't know you are awake or not while dreaming, you just assume you are awake, like you are right now. If you don't check, you'll never know.

I have never once become lucid by actually doing an RC, but I have gone a few days without RCing (just using awareness practices) and end up forgetting what the types of RCs were. It's best to practice them along with mindfulness, because you might not remember them as well in the dream.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Well awareness and reality checks go hand in hand. RCs are just for confirming, like you said, but you have to confirm the general awareness instead of just assuming
      From my rotting body,
      flowers shall grow
      and I am in them
      and that is eternity.
