      was this a LD?

well last night i think maybe i had a lucid dream but im not sure. here is what happened in my dream.

i was out side a house in the backyard. there was no sun out so im guessing it was night time. i randomly did a RC(nose plug) and it worked. but i dont think i became lucid. the dream didnt become vivid at all. nothing really changed in the dream. and i didnt really feel anything either. after that tryed to changed the scene. i closed my eyes and thought of a scene which i dont remember and when i opened my eyes it didnt work. next i tryed to walk in side of the house. but i was only able to take about3 steps befor i couldnt move. my legs were not working. i then did another rc and this time it failed. i didnt even know what to think. i remember just standing there for a few seconds then i woke up

i hope it wasnt a lucid because it wasnt very cool and not vivid. so anyways was that a ld?

One detail you didn't mention was whether or not you actually knew you were dreaming. If you did, then Congratulations! That was your first lucid dream!

And don't be discouraged, because not all first lucids are amazing spectacles of mind-blowing clarity and adventure. Sometimes you just kinda 'realize you're dreaming,' and that's it. (That is, after all, the definition of 'lucid dreaming'.)

Now that you're a lucid dreamer, you can start working on control, and learning how to make your dream more vivid, and last longer. Take a look at the Dream Control section of the forum, and begin to familiarize yourself with some of the control techniques.

A lot of people dream about lucidity or about doing reality checks etc before they have their first lucid. It sounds like that might be what happened.

High motivation can cause what Darkmatters said, but if you did an RC then it is likely you did realise your dreaming, you still have to remember what you did like anything in real life.

Haha yup. If you knew you were in a dream while in the dream you were lucid. It sounds like you weren't but keep trying!

It probably was a lucid, because you mention trying to change the scene. Why would you do that if you weren't aware?
I dislike your constant mopping about no becoming lucid, so it's good to here you finally suceeded
      Nice work!
