Do you think this is possible? :O

What if someone was in a lucid dream with control but they didn't realize it and they thought it was real life. So then what if the person somehow died in the dream, would it be possible for them to go into a coma in the waking life because they actually think they're dead?

Interesting thought but isn't a dream you think is reality just, um, a dream? In normal dreams when you die you still wake up.

Yeah, a lucid dream is where you realise that you are dreaming so I would expect that it would just be a normal dream. And of course we all know what happens if you die in a normal dream, you usually just wake up or enter another dream.

However, I'm just thinking that it might be possible to look at this in reverse. Suppose, a person went into a coma and started to dream. Then he realised he was dreaming but he might be in the dream for so long that after a while he believes it is reality.

Maybe if you took a hard blow to the head at the same second that you dreamed of dying. I guess that is not the same thing.

I don't know for certain, but I don't think we dream during a coma.

Yea I don't think we dream in coma's either, but for whoever may be in one, I'd hope they could dream for the entirety of it, and become lucid throughout the whole time, like 6 month LD, sounds like fun! (except for the coma part)

Many people report dreaming in comas, but I can't actually confirm if you or cannot. But on topic, no, its impossible to die from dying in a dream, because your self-representation is made of pure nothing. At much, you can get psychologically harmed from the experience, but this is way more rare than you'd guess.
