      semi-lucid?

So I have had these dreams, where I am vaguely aware that i am dreaming. It's not all that surprising to me though and i'm not really thinking about it that much. I am just a natural lucid dreamer and it does not always register much to me.

For instance, I had a dream where some people were trying to imprison me in a building. I knew though that I had special powers and could get out and I did just that.. I flew over them, and reflected their bullets by creating a force field around myself, and then I exploded through the roof. pretty theatrical, but all the while I never reached a point where I was RC'ing or actively thinking "oh hey this is a dream!" and really I wouldn't have known it was a lucid dream at all... except that when I left the building i found a friend of mine. She is someone I used to care a lot about and so I decided to show off and I picked her up, started flying over a scenic valley, and I told her "guess what? I'm dreaming" as we flew off. Her reaction was amusing, she shook her head in denial and I stopped trying to convince her.

On reflection, I knew I was dreaming all along, but I wouldn't have called attention to it so that I would have known I was lucid except that I wanted to tell my DC about it.

Does anyone else have lucids where the fact of lucidity is *not* a big deal or a big focus in the dream, just a sort of vague awareness in what otherwise could just as well be a regular dream?
      well wishes,
      lily

Not really, for myself. For me, there's usually a distinct difference between a lucid dream and a normal dream. This might just be because i'm not a natural lucid dreamer and have to consistently practice my technique. You should try doing some more waking awareness and turn these almost-lucid dream to full-blown awesome lucids for sure!

Used to have them often. Just practice stabilizing more and incorporating all of your senses and it will help you anchor into you dream to become fully lucid. Focus on details.

This happens to me all the time. Even when I am not actively trying to lucid dream, most of my normal dreams have this feeling. I just know I can do whatever I want. I think I exert dream control out of habit. Super powers, flying, controlling people, ect. Sometimes I know I am dreaming, but it is only a minor thought in the back of my head. It is not a huge revelation, like in your stereotypical DILD. There are many levels of lucidity. I think this is just a low level of lucidity, where you know you are dreaming, but you don't really understand the full ramifications.

I'm glad to see this thread, as I had one of these semi-lucids the other night and was wondering if other people experience the same thing.

I think this explains it perfectly. In my dream the other night, I wanted to change my clothes. I knew it was a dream and even remember some dream control advice from this site. I was able to shoot molecules out of my hands to make a dress. However, I didn't fully realize the implications of this being a dream, go counter to the dream plot, or remember my current dream goal.

I am natural lucid dreamer as well and wonder if this has anything to do with it. I was looking through a dream journal from a couple of years ago. There were a couple of times when I actually had a WILD - without even realizing what I was doing - and still only stayed semi-lucid at best.

This seems to happen quite often, I realized that if I do not perform a RC then I am never fully in control of my dream. Most of my dreams I am aware that I can become invisible and or not be killed for whatever reason but I am unaware that I am dreaming. These I do consider to be semi-lucid dreams because we do have control, we just don't know it.
