      Binural Beats

I know their is already a thread but it's a year old and people wasn't really sure. Has anyone had any success incuding LD's with binural beats, first time I used it I remebered 5 dreams, 1 of them being vivid. So for some reason, it increased my dream recall a lot, and that was before I even started writting my dreams down. Didn't LD though. Not tried it again as personally I find it annoying, much prefer silence when going to sleep, also will they work if I listen to it a couple of hours before I go to sleep, or do I need to listen to it right before sleep/during sleep.

They didn't give me an LD since I really struggle to sleep with headphones on. But they did have an effect; I managed to enter sp within 10 minutes which is amazing compared to the normal 20 minutes. They occasionally make my dreams really vivid too. I don't think they would work with listening a few hours before, I think you have to listen whilst falling asleep or just before at least.
You don't have to use binaural beats either, you could always try some B6. Or if you're not happy with taking tablets, you could always try B6 rich foods like apple juice (not a food, derp), peanut butter or cheese.

      Hope this helps

I have tried binaural beats a few times. I managed to get one lucid but they aren't consistent for me. I won't get a lucid everytime I listen to them, only if I am lucky. It does seem to make my dreams more disturbing/vivid though. I have had some pretty intense nightmares because of binaural beats.

They will work if you just listen before bed..you don't have to fall asleep listening to them. Though, your chances of getting lucid will increase if you fall alseep with them in. It also works better if you wake up in the middle of the night, listen to it, and then fall back asleep. The things djpatch mentioned also help increase vividness.

I had my first lucid a couple of weeks ago after I used this binural beats app i had bought that day. Other than that my dreams were very vivid. I did all of this by listening to it before I fell asleep, because like you, I can't sleep if I am listening to it as I go to bed.

I've gone through some of the Monroe Institute's programs. They help with my meditation, but don't do much for my dreaming.

Ive been using binaural beats for 3 years on and off for meditation and altered states of consciousness. And thats what they are for imo. If you listen to them with the intention of having a ld, then you could get one, but it could happen without it as well. It may help you to clear your mind - and get into a mediative state, and that could be helpful. That depends on your approach to lucid dreaming. If you listen to them when waking up in the middle of the night it will probably be more useful to the direct approach - but it probably wont give you automatic LDs without effort.

To me having control of my mind is of great value - having more awareness during the waking day is useful in my quest for LDs, out-of-body-experiences, greater quality in life etc. etc.

They have strange effects on me. For ex. 2 nights ago I listened one of them labeled Astral Projection which I first heard like 6-7 years ago. Anyways, I had an LD, I mean that was one of my usual DILDs. I was running from someone. By run, I mean going like spiderman style I ended up in a concentration camp. There were army officials everywhere. One of them who was at his 60s recognized me and activate some device with something like a remote controller. I knew something bad will happen. A sound started on loudspeakers. The exact sound of binaural beats I listened before I slept. Instead of helping my lucidity (though I was already lucid) it made me faint and woke up. The strange thing was I knew that sound will make me faint.

Although it is not a binaural beat, Monroe's Hemi-Sync Focus 10 seems to make my dreams last longer. I mean my awareness seems to change in those dreams.

Binaural beats are just the dirtiest dubstep imaginable.

I have tried a variety of frequencies and the alpha range seems to affect me the most. If I let my mind wander, it pushes me to get lost in my thoughts, which makes sense because alpha waves can occur while daydreaming. I got to SP once with it, but it never really helped me LD.

Meh. I didn't get much from them, I guess it just depends which ones you use, and the person.

Well I found Binural Beats an Aid at best, personally I think it just sounds like random crap, but give them ago if you want I have heard it works for some people, but that might just be people mistaking an aid for a reason.

Is that not considered binaural beats? I always just assumed they were the same thing. What is the difference?

Well, focus 10, I mean that track is just Monroe's voice and the sound of ocean waves.
