      The power to lucid dream?

Hi, I'm a newbie. Sorry if this has been posted before.
I have a simple question... For those who have lucid dreamed several times, do you have "the power" to know that you are going to lucid dream tonight, or can you make your self lucid dream?

I have heard of people who think about getting lucid and just do so. Most though have to use the techniques in order to gain lucidity. But yeah you can make it happen yourself through any method you want to use.

Well, you can have a good feeling about it, kinda know, that tonight is the night. But that doesn't mean, that you'll have one for sure. Although I know, that many people can have lucids at will. You have to make it happen. The tru power is in the intent to have lucid dream and to be happy about it. You can also prepare yourself during daytime by thinking about your dream, what you will do, how much fun it will be.

Intent is a big factor for lucid dreaming, try telling yourself that you will have a lucid dream for about 15 minutes before bed, it can massively increase your chances.
(With WBTB it's much more effective.)

Like said above, it's all about mindset. You might know few techniques or have very little information on how to induce it, but once you narrow it down to a confidence that it can happen at any time, you increase your chances greatly.

      Why is this?

Your brain links goals and emotions very well. If you constantly recall and define something in your head as a goal or a big wish, the brain will occupy itself in ways that will reflect that: not only with dreaming, but also by becoming more alert and focused on those tasks/events. Confidence builds up with emotions, and this is why a high degree of excitement and positive thoughts are effectively more powerful than memorizing any technique for lucid dreaming
