How do you compare to your first lucid?

So I wanted to ask those veterans out there how their lucid dreams now compare to the first few that they had.

      1. What was your first dream like? What did you do, how long did it last?

      2. Do lucid dream lengths grow as you have more?

I just had my first lucid the other night :bravo:. I randomly realized I was dreaming as I was walking down a sidewalk and I did a nose RC and it worked. The dream wasn't that vivid at all. I didn't have too much control. The dream was dark and I felt like it might have been leading to a nightmare so I yelled out "day time!" and it turned to daylight and everything was better. I then wanted to increase the stability of the dream, but for some reason I had doubt that I couldn't so when I yelled out "stability!" nothing happened. I then forgot methods to increase it (even though I know them in waking life), then I lost lucidity...

I just want to hear other's experiences and how they've improved since.

My first dreams only lasted 1-3 minutes. I could not summon objects, I had to walk anywhere in the dream. Walls were solid. Also, my mental state was one step worse than being on a LSD trip. The DCs and random events directed the course of those dreams, and would distract me away from lucidity.
Now (25 years later) I still have some short LDs but also have 30 min+ dreams more often than not. Now picture the white training area in the matrix. I can often be the god of my own training area. In these dreams, almost every aspect of the dream is under my control. The background stays a blue-gray and I can then create any scene I want and use any super power I think of. In those dreams DCs and random events are minimal.
I also have the ability now to go to places in the astral realm. I interact with other dreamers and native entities there. In a group envirement like an astral city, laws of physics can limit your powers. If the place has established gravity, then flying is laboreous and you have to rest before long. The entities are not DCs even though this is still a form of LD. They may be more powerful than me and nullify my super powers. I actually recieve training in dream yoga from a yogi who has lived in a certain astral city for 40+ years. I do not get to have these dreams when I choose to, it just happens randomly. That is 2 examples of how my LDs have changed.
LD length does increase because you will learn to stablize. That is the trick to long LDs. Many people can have about a 10 minutes LD if they stablize 1 or 2 times. If you want really long LDs then you need to be real good at stablizing so you can do it quickly and often. 30 minute LDs are pretty common for advanced dreamers. A LD can last about 90ish minutes on the rare occasion if you stay very stable.
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.

      cool question

      1. My first LD was when I was 8. My brother and I got swept up into a tornado that was about 5 feet tall lol. I told him "Don't worry, it's just a dream!" I think I woke up just after that, it wasn't very long. I remember the next day, none of my friends believed me when I said I knew that I was dreaming. After years of lucid dreams of varying length and control, I found DreamViews in 2004, after which I learned how to increase the duration, frequency, and clarity of my lucid dreams. They can last several minutes. Not epic lengths, but I'm always learning!

      2. Yes, I believe they grow as you have more, for one reason, you now know what it feels like. That gives you something tangible to aim for and try to stabilize. Good job on the "daylight" command by the way! The next step in stabilizing is locking in your form. Try rubbing your hands together and looking at them as you do it.

First lucid I was like 11 and I tried to have sex with a DC, woke up straight away! (about 20 seconds ahaha)

      2. Do lucid dream lengths grow as you have more?
Of course, you become more stable and controlled so you won't slip away or wake up as much!

      1. What was your first dream like? What did you do, how long did it last?

My first lucid was a nightmare somewhere on spain with priests and the like, demons started attacking and I became lucid at that point and fought one of the demons, yay! It was around 20mins long I think. First induced was around 7mins long, a WILD. I was trying to find a difference between dreams and reality.

      2. Do lucid dream lengths grow as you have more?

The lenght has improved definitely, along with vividness and clarity and control.

      1. A two second long false awakening, woke up right after the RC.
      2. Yes, definetly. My longest one was probably 20 minutes, and very vivid.

Sivasion, how did I know you would give me another answer?

Thank you to all of you for replying! I'm loving hearing that I wasn't the only one with an unstable and short first lucid. The first time experiences are interesting to hear. I'm also glad to hear that vividness and stability grows as you have more.

Keep the replies coming! I'm interested in what everyone has to say.

My lucid dreams probably came about because I was lacking control of normal dreams. For instance the lighting would be bad or dim in my dreams sometimes, then I was in a constant struggle to find a light switch. Or when flicking the lights on, no effect, or very little. Its like a dream on the verge of becoming a nightmare. That was back when I was 16 or younger. But then around 16, I know one of my first real lucid dreams was where I walked out on the road and waited for cars to come by. The first one came, I grabed it like superman and stopped it. It got crunched up in the process but I wasn't hurt. I proceeded doing this with several more cars until I was satisfied.

In other dreams around this time once I actually got off the ground and flew, it was hard to fly because it took so much concentration, as opposed to now when I do it.

My first lucid was awesome. I woke up from my bed, did my RC, and realised I was dreaming. I walk downstairs into the garden and start flapping my arms because I wanted to fly. Nothing happens, and I see my brother looking at me from inside with this WTF face. At this point I'm like "holy fuck I'm not dreaming at all", and I run back upstairs embarrassed as hell and jump back into bed.

The next morning I'm like: wait, my brother doesn't live here anymore since 2 years...

My first few lucids were short, I had zero control and anything that wasn't possible in real life didn't work. Now I can fly, put my hand through a wall, and remove people from the scenery. I can also imagine a certain place being around the corner and then walk into it. Summoning people is where I'm stuck at though, but I keep trying .

The cool thing is that you don't really need to read the whole forum and a bunch of books/articles to improve. All my improvements came from pure practice by myself.

Haha, I hate when that happens!

      Great lucid dream though!

My first ones never lasted more than 1-2 mins, but once I learned how to stabilize the dream the length grew quite a bit, my last like 4 LD's lasted from like 10-25ish minutes.

I know the specific time that my second to last LD lasted actually, it was 19 min long. I woke up and looked at the clock before falling back to sleep right into a LD, and when I awoke it was 19 minutes later.
