      Flawless RCs?

So I noticed I was in a dream but I had a faulty RC and I screwed up. What is the flawless RC to you guys?

I don't think there's any completely flawless RCs out there, but the finger counting, and nose pinch have never failed me.

Make sure to do more than one, too.

I too have had excellent success with finger counting but have slipped up a few times when I counted and had 10 only to find out I was dreaming. What I do now is count each hand at least twice now for my RC. I have also started counting fingers on dream characters and in the real world and been able to become lucid more easily this way too.

Nose pinch. Always works for me.
The brain is unable to replicate the feeling, in your dreams you don't need "air"

Nose pinch has failed once for me. Other than that it's great, the finger through palm one is alright but slightly dodgy and some people get self conscious doing it in public.
      Spoiler for LD goals:

There really isn't a flawless rc. Every one could fail at any time. Holding your nose and trying to breath is probably the most successful. Counting fingures work most of the time as well.

False. The nose pinch does fail every now and then. I was even lucid once when I tried the nose pinch and I couldn't breath. No you don't need air in dreams. But your mind can replicate the feeling quite well. That's why pinching your arm isn't reliable. Your brain can replicate the pain.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

My favorite is a gravity RC. I can always levitate in LDs so it works well, but is not flawless. One that I feel is almost flawless is a visual check. You focus attention on an object and stare at it while wondering if anything is wrong with the visuals. In a dream nothing stays exactly the same or stationary for long. If you look at a pencil on your desk and do this RC make a real point of trying to spot anything odd. You will see the pencil bend or vibrate or little swirling patterns may move across the image. Then you become lucid. It is not flawless because of time dialation. If you honestly stare at the object for more than 30 seconds you can almost always detect the dream, but if you stare at it for 4 seconds and your brain says it was a full minute you may still fail.
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.

Yeah, no true flawless RC. Your mind is capable of a lot. That's why it's good to have a kit.

      -Nose Pinch
      -Look at hands
-Some form of gravity RC (how your body feels)
-WakingNomad suggested you try and use magic as an RC. I personally think it would be good if you were confident, probably not bother.)
-Things that behave oddly in Dreams (mirrors and such)
-I just thought of a Shadow RC. Do you have a shadow in dreams?
