      I was almost there...

I finally became aware that I was dreaming and then my dream faded and I woke up...was it because I was too excited? I know your supposed to rub your hands together but I didn't even get the chance.

Yeah you were probably too excited. Most of the time when people have their first lucid dream it only lasts for a few seconds. Goodluck with your future lucid dreams :p!

I can see you sleep through your bedroom window. You're killing yourself with lucid dreaming.

Yeah that's exactly what happened to me, which was pretty frustrating, but it just left me eager for more

The moment of lucidity often causes people to slip out of their dream. It can be an awe-inspiring experience, particularly when you're not expecting it.

Keep trying, and try to remind yourself everything you do is okay because it's a dream.

Hey Daxx. It's also possible that you were near the end of your REM cycle, but based on what you said and the typical first LD experience, you probably did get excited. So how'd it feel for you? How'd you realize it was a dream? Congrats on your first LD, by the way.

It felt great knowing that I finally had a LD but I wish I could have stayed in it for a while , the dream got so out of wack and I just remember saying I'm dreaming and I did a RC and then I got really excited and woke up.

Hah, your first LD lasted longer than mine then. I thought "I'm dreaming" and then woke up. Didn't even get to do a RC. I'm sure your next LD will be longer. You'll be prepared next time! I hope you have another LD soon.

That's been the case for most of my lucids. For me there always (what I can best describe as) an initial wall of vibration that I have to break through once I realise I'm dreaming, and more often than not this part is so overwhelmingly exciting that I just wind up waking myself up.

It is normal, when anyone have their first lucid dream they get excited about it and loose it in the mid. But anyways, congrats for your first lucid dream.
