      Post Sleep Paralysis, Stating calm?

This morning around 4am (woke up naturally) i tried wbtb and tried to use sleep paralysis to create a LD. I positioned myself on my side and stayed still...a short while later (maybe 5-10 min?) My sleep paralysis started, and was quickly progressing, about 5 minutes after that, i started getting random imagery (that was behind my eyelids) that was completely different from what i was thinking (I usually think about issues and such and black-out). About the time of the imagery, i started getting tingling sensations that were getting slightly more powerful with each wave. I was doing well intill i actually realized what was going on. At that time it felt like my heart kept sending shots of adrenaline throughout my body. Each time sending me further away from my new record for SP, it kept doing it, so i rolled over facing my fan to find out one of my hands successfully hit SP. How do i keep my heart from ending my Sp attempts? Use a Mantra? Idk. Thanks for help, sorry about the post length.

AFAIK, there is no "partial" sleep paralysis which only affects one or more body parts. I don't know what you experienced, but it certainly wasn't SP. Maybe you had your hand in a bad position so that it became numb? Or maybe it was a weird pre-SP stage?

I can't speak for everyone, but I've had experiences with sleep paralysis countless times, even as a child, and it was always "complete", meaning it affected the body from head to toe.

Just be patient and try to stay as calm as you can. Strange things happen with your breathing and heart rate as you fall asleep. It doesn't necessarily mean you are getting too excited. It just means you are falling asleep. Stick with it, and don't fight it.

If you find it distracting, try distancing yourself from your body. Place yourself in an imaginary scene, with an imaginary body. Try to make this dream body feel as real as possible. Use your senses, interact with your environment, touch things, and move around. It should help you forget about your body lying in bed.
