Post Exersize before WILD or WBTB?

Wow this WILD method is making me (crazy) haha. I've read Sageous'(?) posts on WILD and understand that newbs get caught up in the process, instead of focusing on the goal - to LD! I can understand why. It's so damn difficult. While there is not an "overnight way to master ld'ing", I just want to try it once...

So before I registered for this forum, I was having vivid dreams every night and in one I questioned whether I was dreaming. I failed to realize it, because one of my dream characters denied it LOL

Anyway, since I registered...Forget being Lucid I can't even remember my dreams. I want to WILD so I go to sleep at 3 a.m., and wake up at 8. Then I go back to sleep (trying to LD). I stay down for 20 mins or so, never enter SP, get hot + tired= want to give up ..and I wake up to find that it's 10 oclock. So I literally skip SP, because while I'm consious, I'm not even tired .wtf can someone help me out.

I try mantras, flexing, counting sheep too .

Does anyone recommend excersizing at 8a.m., so I'm physically tired? Then coming home to nap?
      any advice would help!

I think simple exercising would only invigorate you, and make your body more active. This means you might end up being more awake. You'd have to do some strenuous activities for your body to get to the point of being too tired, and just retire once you lay down to sleep (which I think is what you're asking?).

I'm not sure whether you're inquiring about achieving SP, or having a WILD in general. I've been in Sageous's class, and his lessons are really in-depth. Keep in mind that Sleep Paralysis is not a goal in WILDing, it is simply a checkpoint to guide you of your progress. Sleep Paralysis is not the same for everyone, it has varying intensity, and plenty of people don't even notice it when they WILD!

Anyway, here is a link that might help you out: http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/compre...alysis-126975/

      Cheers!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

It sounds to me like you're too excited to fall back asleep again. The goal is to fall asleep so you'll have to relax. Try shortening the WBTB's down to just a few minutes or even just waking up and going right back to sleep. Some people can't fall asleep again during a WBTB if they've been up for even a short amount of time. You can also try experimenting with the time you're waking up. I used to wake up 4½ hours into sleep, but I noticed that I barely dreamt anything up until 6-7 hours of sleep. So I put my alarm 6 hours into sleep instead and it was way more effective.

Like paige says, SP is not a goal, it's something that tells you that you're on the right track. Infact the goal is to ignore the SP as much as possible since it'll distract you and might even frighten you enough so that your attempt fails.

Bear in mind that WILD is tricky and might take alot of tries for you to get it right. Don't give up! You'll get it right one day

      Good luck in the future!

I recently tried (15 min) exercise duing a couple of my WBTB attempts where I found that it helped me.
The main thing (with me) I was more relaxed when I went back to bed, rather than alert. I even got an LD one time out of it as well!
WILD I suppose is the 'holy grail' where everybody tries and has difficulty with it. (Unless you are a real 'natural', or an expert however.)
I confess to being really crap at it, although I think I did it / come real close the other week.
I have the same problem although I'm working on it - I think you have to get to know your body more, be comfortable, know how to relax and try not to force the issue by trying too hard.
Sageous' guide to WILD is very good as he puts more emphasis on awareness, mantras, etc. rather than the 'bells and whistles' sideshow of the WILD technique. (As Matte points out.)
I usually combine the WILD technique (as a form of relaxation exercise) after my WBTB so if I don't get anywhere with it (as in takes too long) then I find I'm really relaxed and fall asleep where I usually have a DILD later on in the morning.

      Good luck in the future.
