Network Communications

I must know if it's possible to send electronic communications from within a lucid dream.

If not within a normal lucid dream, than within a dream taking place on a higher realm.

I was seconds away from sending myself a Gmail.

While the brain does use electrical impulses to function as do modern networks the brain's signals are not as direct as a computers. The neurons in our brain may act in a similar way that binary code does but not as simply. At this point in time I would say we would need a thorough understanding of how the brain works and exactly what signals mean what and then translate them into binary code, then send them through some sort of cable or any physical connecter to the computer. Then it seems highly possible that it can work.

From a less scientific view there are some who believe of a collective unconscious which is slowly being intertwined with the internet and you can already "merge" with it on a subconscious level. All you would need to do is figure out a way to connect to this (which is quite hard considering you have little control over your subconscious) and then do whatever it is you set out to do. However I find the first suggestion to be much more realistic and possible but the second one could still work though that may just be my open mind. Free to interpretation though

It'll take more time to develop a system to connect a man's brain to a machine than the time any of us have left.
tl;dr: We'll be dead before this happens.
