      Lucid Dreams From Childhood?

Here's what I mean... When I was 5 I had my first lucid dream. (but I barely remember it.) Then when I was 11, I had an actual LD. I woke up, and just had this weird feeling... kind of like an "emptiness", i guess. I got up out of bed and looked around. nothing was out of the ordinary. ...Until I looked at the clock... The clock said 3:12, but then i looked away and looked back and then it said 7:24. And as most of us know, the clocks time changing drastically is a sign of being in a LD. I freaked out a bit because I was 11, and i had no idea what a lucid dream was, or that i was even dreaming. so i just went back to bed. -_- Heh... I have never been this disappointed in myself xD So I guess I missed out, essentially.

Does anyone remember having any lucid dreams when they were about 7-12 years old? If not, what are your thoughts on mine?

I do! I don't remember how old I was exactly, but I was quite young so maybe 7(ish).
I used to have a LOT of nightmares, and being young, they terrified me and I could never get back to sleep. So one day after another night of nightmares, I said to myself "That's it. Next time I have a nightmare, I will wake myself up."

Sure enough, the next time I had a nightmare, I realised and forced myself to wake up.

I was on a small hill near our local supermarket and this car with really bright lights was coming right at me but I couldn't move. It was hard to force my eyes open, but once I did, I thought "Oh... I should have just stayed in the dream..." Because I wanted to know what it would be like to be hit by a car in my dream.

Although my LD count here is 20, most of those are SEMI-lucid dreams... i've only had a few fully lucid dreams :T

My first lucid dream was a recurring one. I was a child, maybe 5 years old. I dreamt that I was in a room, but not really a room. It was more of a space. A black, empty space. I looked, and there was a wall of flame in the darkness, a fiery and ferocious dog's head made of fire protruding from the wall, snarling and reaching for me. I was scared in the dream, terrified out of my wits as a small child, never before had I seen or heard of such imagery to vaguely recall in a dream yet. And There was a man, wearing only black who was tall and kind at first, but then turning sinister as we conversed on a level that I, on a 5 year old's level, did not possess at the time. He became menacing, threatening to me, I can't recall the conversation exactly. He ordered the dog to devour me, to attack me. The fiery dog turned on me once more, and I was crying desperately, begging for mercy. The dog did then something unexpected, it attacked and devoured the man instead, and I was confused. I then proceded to attempt to pet the fiery beast, discovering that no harm came to me when I did. It was happy, and even playful. All my dread disappeared, and I claimed the dog as my own. In the next recurrences over the next few nights, the apprehension was no longer there. I felt comfortable, even peaceful, playing with the once menacing fiery dog. What could this dream have meant? To this day it is my most lucid dream.

I was able to overcome my recurrent nightmare, which started when I was about 7 or 8, when I was about 10 or 11. Then I started to have lucid dreams which I didn't pay much attention during my waking life. It was always something like: "Of course! I can do this..." in every next LD. Then, from time to time it happened during my adolescence too. It was not until I was about 20 when I started to experiment some other things different than just trying to summon things I wasn't able to get in my waking life, or trying to bring those things I found in my dreams to my waking life, or telling my DC's to remember about it the next time we meet in waking life. There was a time that I almost got sicked of realizing it was a dream again because of "nothing worked". So, I missed out pretty much!!

Heh, my first lucid dream was kind of funny. Anyway, I was 6 when I had my first one. In the dream, I was at some fancy restaurant for a family dinner party. It was night-time out, and I was standing outside in front of the restaurant in the parking lot, looking out at the cars. I was wearing a tuxedo, and I had my hands in my pockets. A sudden, and very odd thought came to me, "If I see a giant, floating banana, this is a dream." And a few moments later... I saw a giant, floating banana. I was pretty un-ethusiastic, "Oh, I'm dreaming." I sighed and walked back into the restaurant, walking to a lone chair in the back and sitting. I thought to myself, "Man, when is this boring dream going to end..." and as soon as I thought that, I woke up.

Actually.. I could do a lot with dreams as a kid. Like, I remember a few times where I was able to choose what dream I wanted to have. Like, some floating pictures would float around me, each having a small description under them with a title on the top (course, I couldn't really read them since I was in a dream state.) anyway, I would choose whatever dream I thought was the funnest and go into it. If I didn't like it, I could 'abort' it and go back to the 'dream selection screen'... if only I could figure out how to do this again, it was VERY cool!
