Thread: Need some help with DILD xD.

Do it when you are thinking about school,thinking about being at school or with friends?

Do you try a mantra before falling asleep? Maybe modify it if you really dream often about school and adjust it so it aims at your school dreams, for example: "When I dream about school I will realize that I dream and become lucid". Important thing is really to believe your own mantra.

My opinion is DON'T rely on dream signs. if you don't dream about school then no lucidity. You need to do something more than just waiting for a dream about school. If you are going to try to get lucid via DILD then you MUST practice being aware. You probably can't be aware 24/7 so simply do it in small doses. When doing a reality check REALLY question your surroundings. Take a good look at everything. Then check your memory and explain to yourself what you are doing, why you are doing it, and what were you doing earlier. By doing this you will eventually become independent of dream signs and will become aware in your dreams in many other settings besides school. Hope this helps!

Hmm that sounds like dream sign incubation. That could work, if you put enough thought into it. You could also try reality checking when you sit at any table, or sit behind someone. It may not be exactly how it shows up in your dreams, but hopefully the context is enough for your brain to trigger a reality check when dreaming. Good luck, hope it works well for you!

I used to do reality checks in school it felt like I was secretly doing drugs or something... "Uh sorry David just have to uhm check a thing".
And one time he saw me and asked what the h*ll I was doing and I had to explain my "dark" secret lol. The next night I had a dream where I were in a classroom and the teacher that usually is very nice to me was suddenly super rude... I did a reality check and thought the South park line "Scr*w you guys I am going hoooooooome".
