Memory Recall / Subconcious Memory Recall within a Lucid Dream

      Hello,

I was wondering at the possibility of reliving past memories within a dream.. I realize that the dream could just be a recreation through conscious memory, but has anyone ever asked their subconscious to relive a cherished memory?

I've recently read that you can ask your subconscious questions and receive answers in your dream. If this is true what about subconscious or repressed memory recall, like those who remember traumatic experiences through hypnosis? Is this possible?

I believe, that we do retain memories of everything that ever happened to us. We just can't recall them at will. So yes, I think it's possible to ask your mind to show you something from past. Have you read Lucid dreaming, the gateway to inner self by Robert Waggoner? The whole book is about talking to your mind in lucid dreams.

      Hi, welcome to DreamViews!

I have tried reliving past memories in my lucid dreams, but I have never tried it with a supressed memory. I am not even sure how I should go about that. For now, I am focusing on the basics of lucid dreaming, and I hope at some point I'll reach that aspect of it.

But I suppose it could be possible – the mind is capable of so much more than we can imagine. Have you heard of the Akashic Records? That might pique your interest.

      Good luck!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

      Welcome SigmaX

Check out this doctor: Brian L. Weiss, MD

With hypnosis he was able to make people remember their past lvies and the connection that had to this life's physical body problems.

If this is true, I can't see why it wouldn't work with lucid dreams as well.

I would be suspicious of any memories I picked up in a dream. It would be too easy to create fake memories. It is a fun experiment, but I wouldn't rely on the accuracy of the memories.
