Are there born again Christians around here?

      Guys,
I have been having a lucid dream but i didn't tell to anyone. At first i was thinking that i went to the places in person and i didn't have any idea about lucid dreaming. But after a google a lot on the internet i got this site . But now my pastor is telling me that "its a curse which came from the darkest side" and he prayed for me so that it can stop but unfortunately it became more frequent than ever. Please don't t ridicule i posted my feelings which is disturbing me too much.

      How can it stop ?
      is it real ?
is there other world out there?
i some time see my bedroom when i sleep like normal abut i notice some very little little difference like some small thing is missing from the top of drawer ...... etc .

      Thanks in advance

Your pastor means well but he is not right. I bet he has dreams too. Lucid dreams are dreams, in which you realize, that you are dreaming. Some people believe, that dreams are just in our heads. Some people believe, that they are more than just that. That when we dream, we actually do visit those realms.

But our bodies are never left empty, while we visit these places. There is always original of your consciousness and your subtle bodies left in your body. Only one of our subtle bodies leave to have adventures. This happens every night when we dream, it's just that when you lucid dream, you are aware of that.

What you describing as you can see your room at night. That can happen when you are lucid dreaming or having out of body experience. I have had it couple of times too.

After you learn more about this, you can decide on your own, if it's a curse. For most of us it's a wonderful thing. Time, when we can play out our fantasies, have fun, or even talk to our higher self (soul) in quest to better understand ourselves.

Please do ask if you have any more questions. Happy dreams

I'm a Catholic and I started attempting lucid dreaming recently. Gab is right. I personally think all dreams are in your head; however, this theory of mine was challenged once I started hearing about shared dreams. My friend had one with his brother, Sigmund Freud proved the possibility of it, and even my own mother believes she may have had experiences with this. Also another one of my friends used to have a lucid dream every night and he is one of the nicest people I know, so you don't have to worry about it being some voodoo curse.

I have one thing to say and want you to think about it. Joseph and the many colored coat.

      Curse?

Much evidence for dreams being a gift, and none for them being a curse. Shouldn't the bible be the deciding factor, not your pastor?
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.

I'm a Christian, and a pretty right leaning evangelical sort at that, and I just don't see where these people are coming from. I think your pastor is concerned by the apparent connection he might see between lucid dreaming and eastern religions, like he thinks you're going to become a Buddhist or something, but in reality it's nothing more than knowing you're dreaming. What you do with that is what makes it either beneficial or harmful, but there is nothing inherently evil in that awareness on its own. It's like a gun, or drinking alcohol. Neither is wrong in itself, but both can be used in sinful ways. You can use a firearm to protect an innocent person from an attacker, or you can murder an innocent person. The choice is up to you. The important thing is if you are a follower of Christ, and that's between you and The Lord. Having a lucid dream isn't going to change that.

For the record, I've been having them naturally since childhood and I'm now in my 40s. If they were evil, you'd think they would have stopped when I became a Christian.

I am a christian and have found nothing wrong with LDing. By christian I mean someone that is a follower of Christ.

Dreams are dreams. Nothing more, nothing less. You have them every night. As Sivason says ^^^^ in the Bible dreams were used many times by God. Sivason also said somewhere that if lucid dreaming were evil then dreaming would be evil. I was very cautious of it at first, but I researched it and could never find anything against it in the Bible. I have heard a lot of things that Christians have said about it such as "it opens the door for demons" "you shouldn't mess with your subconscious" and "it is exactly like astral projection"
      1) as a christian you have the Holy Spirit inside you, and demons are not all knowing, so they don't know what you think or dream. If you think LDs are going to be scary and demonic, that is how they will seem to you. My sister had a few LDs and loved it until she read that they were demonic. Her next dream everything "seemed" demonic. Expectation plays a big role in dreams.
      2) It doesn't say this in the bible, and anything you do changes your subconscious.
      3) I shouldn't even have to answer this question... Astral projection is supposedly outside your body. Dreaming is all in your head.

Another big factor to think about is this:
If it were evil, then God wouldn't allow you to do it against your will. Lucid dreaming is common to young kids, they sometimes just realize they are dreaming. How could the realization of something be evil? Sin is a choice of man to go against God, it is not something you do accidentally.

      So now what?
You can learn how to wake yourself up from LDs quite easily. If you want to stop having them, then just wake yourself up from a few and it should stop soon.

      or

You can embrace the world of dreams. Become a dreamer. This is something that I only do in my free time as a hobby, I just dropped a different hobby and picked this one up, it is more challenging and more rewarding than most. I would suggest listening to this song and making your decision:
Owl City - Fireflies - YouTube
I am very sure that Adam Young is a lucid dreamer from this song, all his other songs about dreaming, and his album "Am I dreaming." He is also a christian through and through, just listen to some of his interviews and you will easily see that.

Good luck! I hope you find what answer you are looking for, anymore questions just ask.

      Christian = Born again
      John 3:3
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, Verily, I say unto thee, unless a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

I am an atheist so i can't really relate.

But as stated above me, lucid dreams are pretty much normal dreams the only difference being that you are aware of the fact that you are dreaming.
And since you dream anyway, i can't really see the harm.

Like Buhl, I'm an atheist as well..

However dreams (of course this is open to different views) result from the chemical interactions within your mind. After all we are all made up of tissue's and what not. It's completely natural and nothing spiritual at all (at least not IMO). Being aware in a dream isn't bad in any way, shape or form and nothing to be afraid of. I would be a bit worried if having dreams made your god angry considering they're not even rituals..

Just enjoy life mate! You aren't hurting anyone or yourself in the process

Seasonally appropriate reference: Note that Joseph had pretty good dream recall.

      From Matthew 1
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: when His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit. 19 And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man and not wanting to disgrace her, planned to send her away secretly. 20 But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” 22 Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: 23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which translated means, “God with us.” 24 And Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took Mary as his wife, 25 but kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a Son; and he called His name Jesus.

      And from Matthew 2

11 After coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. 12 And having been warned by God in a dream not to return to Herod, the magi left for their own country by another way.
13 Now when they had gone, behold, an angel of the Lord *appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Get up! Take the Child and His mother and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you; for Herod is going to search for the Child to destroy Him.”

So God uses dreams and a pastor says there's something wrong with them. I'll go with the higher authority.
