I'm no expert here, heck, I've not even been lucid even once, but what I know, if you don't treat DCs like normal people, things can get hectic. |
|
I have never had a LD but I do get how you should go about controlling things. |

~~~~~{Lucid Dream Goals}~~~~~
~~{Look at my hands}-{Find a light switch}-{Eat something}~~
While it may be frustrating, asking a random DC to show you your true self the first time you are lucid is like walking into a Buddhist temple and demanding that a monk make your reach Nirvana. Like the others have said, you really have to start small. I have lucid dreamed a handful of times, and while I have been able to fly without thought, I can't do other complex actions like conjuring or controlling DCs yet. |
Like it has already been said, it has to do with dream control and expectation/belief. Also, in the dream as in waking life there's a % of the action that you do actually control and the rest is just the way it turns out, other factors. In the dream world your % of potential control is much higher of course, yet from one to another the dream always has its element however subtle or strong it may be. |
I noticed that if I don't know the answer to the question subconsciously, then my DC would not answer it. For example, one time in my dream I met a very close friend who recently passed and I asked him "I have always been interested in knowing, but what happens when you die?". Now, I wasn't really lucid in the dream, but I had vividness that cannot describe. My friend just looks at me and smiles but doesn't say anything. When I repeat the question in a little forceful way, I wake up. My mind could have made up any reason, but it didn't for some reason. At other times, I have seen false memories coming in, but not in this case though. |
