      Frequent Lucid Dreamers

If you wouldn't mind, I would like to request some tips. I looked around at the tutorials and found nothing that could re-spark my quickly dimensioning hope. I've had a few lucid dreams. I achieved them by using MILD before going to bed every night. My main questions are this:

      1. What reality checks work best for YOU? (I know they are more personal based on mentality and your dream world)
      2. How many do you do every day?
      3. How many lucid dreams do you typically have?
      4. WBTB, what do you do when you're awake? (I read Exploring the world of Lucid dreaming by Stephen LeBarge, no luck btw)
      5. HOW do you conduct reality checks in a manner that crosses over into the dream?

By the way, I am new here. So, pleased to meet you and I look forward to many conversations with this community.

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

MILD is good. It's even better though, if you add elements of DILD to it. It won't take up much of your time, it's easy to do and it can give you much better chance for a DILD.

      1. These are my favorite RCs, and they are also some of the most efective ones.
      - looking at hands and counting fingers
      - thumb/palm
      - brathing through pinched nose
      - trying to levitate
      - trying to change something

      2. When I was mostly DILDing, I would do one every time I remembered. Sometimes a few times an hour, then I would forget for a few hours.

      3. I have more WILDs than DILDs now. And that really is individual.

      4. I had good results watching some inspiring, LDing related youtube videos. Something, that would give me butterflies in my stomach and get me all fired up 'oh yeah, that's so cool, I'm doing that tonight".

You can also write down your dreams, read through your old cool dreams, or somebody's DJ on DV, re-read some tutorials. Something that not only gets you thinking about LD, but gives you the "heck, I'm getting that tonight".

      5. Most important about RCs is not how often or which one you do, but the emotions you feel when doing them. And you believing, that they will work during day, because you are in a dream for sure.

      I use this awareness combo:

      A. I ask myself during day, no matter whan I'm doing, "wow, am I'm dreaming? This could be a dream".
      B. I look around and I expect something to change, or find something that's different form the way I remember it, because I'm in a dream.
      C. I look at my hands closely and count my fingers. I don't anticipate how many fingers I'll have. It could be any number, because I'm in a dream.
      D. After this, I say a mantra "Next time I'm dreaming, I look at my hands and realize I'm dreaming". I repeat this mantra a few times.

You can substitute the hands RC for any other RC. Then of course you change your mantra as well.

Welcome to DV, and listen to Gab, she is awesome!

      1) Trying to levitate (takes no physical movement, so it is concealed from observation of others/ does not look weird at work)
Tapping my fingertip against various surfaces while carefully examining if it feels wrong, such as my lap top feeling like a cotton blanket, or my finger tip sinking in to the laptop a little.
Observing everything carefully and watching for changes.
Trying to remember how I got somewhere and analyzing if things make any sense.
Clicking my teeth together, and analyzing it, just like my finger tapping.

      2) As often as I can think about it. 3 times an hour perhaps, with hours that I am forgetful and do none.

      3) It depends on if I am focused on LDing. If I am really working it, then perhaps 10 a week. Other times it is random, so lots of little lucid moments, but maybe only 1 good LD in 7-10 days.

      4) Use the restroom, wipe a bit of tap water across my face, sit in my chair for about 3 minutes.

      5) I use RCs that involve constantly being aware. I do not rely on physically amazing events, such as finger through palm. My RC routine is a way of viewing the world, and noticing how waking life vs dreaming life feels.

First, listen to Gab and Sivason, as they are awesome...

      1. Yup, RC's are personal. For instance, I touch my glasses, which are always on my nose in waking life, but never in dreams. Tapping doorways and wondering at your state whenever passing through a doorway is another favorite. "Work" is a relative term for me and RC's, though, as I have pretty much never used an RC during a dream to become lucid (though I've used them plenty of times after becoming lucid)...they are very helpful in developing awareness skills during waking life, I've found.

      2. That varies, but I tend to do RC's about once an hour most of the time, though much more often on days I'm focusing on LD'ing, and much less on days when TV or partying are the priority.

      3. As many as I can. An answer to this is irrelevant, I think, as it's quality, not frequency that matters.

      4. I usually try to think about my goals and plans for the upcoming LD session. What I do not do is turn on a TV, computer, or any other device that will distract me or "wake me up" from my peaceful "'tween sleep" WBTB period.

      5. Per my answer to #1, I apparently do not!

Welcome, LogicInLife, and good luck in your journey!

My wife read this and just told me that I sometimes actually click me teeth together while dreaming, and it freaks her out and keeps her awake. LOL

      Yo.
Yup, listen to Gab, Sageous, and Sivason! As for me:
1: Looking at hands, also taking off headphones.
2: Not too much actually, don't really count them but i do whenever i think about it.
3: Generally 2-4 per week, sometimes more.
4: I haven't done much normal WBTBs, i use naps and i do MicroWBTB whenever i wake up in the middle of the sleep and write tags for dreams, then mantras & intention, most of my LDs are from naps, naps are golden for lucid dreaming!
      5. Similar to what gab described.
Good luck and have fun lucid dreams!

No, but I don't believe you.

      Actually, I'm really just jealous.

      1. What reality checks work best for YOU? (I know they are more personal based on mentality and your dream world) - I dont do any reality checks. I probably should but too lazy..
      2. How many do you do every day? 0
      3. How many lucid dreams do you typically have? Depends. When I try (aka this summer) I can go as far as 5 per week. When I don't really care i do 1-2 a month.
      4. WBTB, what do you do when you'reawake? (I read Exploring the world of Lucid dreaming by Stephen LeBarge, no luck btw) I watch the sky on my balcony.
      5. HOW do you conduct reality checks in a manner that crosses over into the dream? Dont do them
