      [Beginner] Questions-first attempt to LD

First off all excuse me for my bad english and second I want to share a strange "story" but let's begin with my background info:
      - I want to travel in Chine , but not for the "travel hot spot" , I want to see the mentality of the people in a standard way of life ( in normal routine ).
      - I have some theory about one particular creature, named "Satyr" in relation with human culture .
      - I like Will Ferrell, not as actor , I like his mentality

OK , let's begin my story:
I know what LD is but I didn't pay much attention ,until a ~2 day ago , when I read some interesting thread. Yesterday was the first attempt to LD with a DJ ( it was a pen and a blank A4 paper ) .

The time was in afternoon , and I gave a try ( nothing to lose ):
I started with a mantra (+ MILD) , after some time it begin the sensation of the wight on my body and I saw some color ( my eyes were closed ) in a black background , then I felt asleep .
After some ~ 5 min (maybe) ,the mantra pop up in my head and then I realized without RC I was dreaming . What I remember was I flew with another tourists over the Big Chinese Wall but ... it was in a bubble view or in fisheye view (it was very poor in details and it was with many black dots in it) after some flashers in other places (I don't remember) I was with Will Ferrell in form of Satyr , sitting with me on a simple traditional Chinese restaurant/bar ( with those little tables and laughing, I was again in a fisheye view but was in much better details ,the walls were made of brown bamboo with a red carpet in the middle) BUT I DIDN'T HEARD WHAT I SAY OR HE SAY . I didn't have the control of my body or anything else,I was only passive in a visual experience.

But this experience was mind blowing and the total time of this was ~ 3 sec. without the kinetic sense only visual , but it was ... fantastic . Keep in mind this was my first attempt of this and didn't knew what will happen, but my mind was creating such a fantastic scene for me to see .

      My question are:
      1) How can I interact with the dream (in a kinetic manner : to listen or to smell something) ?
      2) What do you thing , am I in the write path to LD ?
      3) Because it was in afternoon , the details of my dream were poor ?

      1) To interact with the dream you need to stabilize it. This can be done by shouting "clarity now" or "stabilize", try to feel and listen as much as possible to get immersed in the dream. It also helps to have more lucid dreams so that you get used to the feeling of the dreamworld.
After enough time you will be able to remember your goals and you will be able to interact easily with the scenes around you.

      2) Yes, definitely. Most people will take over 2 weeks to have a lucid dream, you had it in two days, well done
Keep trying and hopefully you will get more.

      3) I'm not sure, do you mean that you went to bed in the afternoon, or woke up? please specify.

Thank you , but I have a theory : my work is strange (in program/time) , many time I stay all night to finish , I don't have a "standard" sleep time but when I am tired and have time to sleep ,I sleep very deep . I believe this can contribute to LD .

I went to bed ( taking a nap, about ~2/3 hours long ) and I woke up very "light" and relaxed .

Well your irregular sleep pattern might contribute. There might actually be a regularity in your irregular sleep pattern, that is that you learned how to deal with your random amounts of sleep. The only way to know if you can do it is if you try.

To answer question three. Your details of your dream were probably poor because you haven't tried to recall them much yet, after a few weeks you should see yourself become much better at remembering your dreams.

If you are diligent with your DJ you're recall should be amazing within a week. I went from 1 dream a night to 3-4 dreams in 5 days.
      Spoiler for Secret to LDing:

True, but I have to take into account that everyone is different. It only took me two or three days to have my first lucid dream, it takes some people months.
If I start using ambitious claims some new users might become bogged down because they aren't seeing results as fast as they hoped.

Since there's already beginners asking questions here...
Lucid dreaming will get easier after the first one, right?

Yup, it generally does. You will still go through waves of lucid dreams, but you do grow accustomed to them over time.
