Impact of Video Games on Lucid Dreaming

Hi Guys,
I Basically play video games atleast 5-6 hours daily, (although I have reduced it in order to aid in my ADA training) but I just want to know your thoughts on playing excessive video games impacting the achievement of Lucid dreams negatively or positively.now, I am not talking about the content of the dream, I am wondering about the onset of the LD itself, whether or not it is influenced by activities like Video Gaming which involve a lot of mental involvement.

Yo. I don't think there are any negative effects besides taking up time, for one i play alot of video games myself and so far i am doing rather well in lucid dreaming, as for awareness and questioning during that time, there are some mental reality checks that can be used right while playing, like trying to change object for example.

For positive effects, some people dream of being in game and some know that they are in game during that, which is on the way to lucidity! Also video games can give a nice amount of dream signs too, if you for example often dream about certain video game or character or such. Increase in vividness of dreams also possible, i think my dreams wouldn't be so vivid all the time if i haven't gotten into video gaming. And finally, video games can inspire alot of interesting lucid dreaming goals!

Thanks Scionox, I was kind of at doubt, since Video gaming was also such a profound mental activity, but yeah, most of the dreams I remember do in a way have something in relation to some of my favorite video games.

You probably already know that video games ( especially first person ones ) can help with lucidity, right ?

The one bad thing that can happen is that you end up staying up too late and not realising just how tired you are. Just be wary of the time

Definitely. :p When I first started practicing I would run myself crazy every night.

If anything videogames help tremendously with lucid dreaming. It provides you with the building blocks to creating your own worlds and fuels your imagination. I play videogames a bunch too and it definitely has given me ideas of lucid dream goals
