Thread: Does anyone else get these feelings as they become lucid?

I don't really know how to word this, or what the proper names of it are. But I've only had about three lucid dreams in my time of trying, and every time I have this unique, amazing feeling upon becoming lucid in a dream. I don't know how to really describe it besides just a feeling of being reborn, I've never felt it before and it is simply perfect. Has anyone else felt these feelings as well, and would like to share your stories and maybe a theory of why these feelings occur?

I experience feelings as well, not exactly same, but often right before becoming lucid and as i become lucid i have distinct feeling that for me is hard to describe beyond simple "Feeling of dreaming" and that's pretty much what makes me lucid many times, it's most likely from awareness, and in your case, being in dream where you can do everything! Many of those feelings vary from person to person, but they are amazing indeed.

I experience this feeling 98% of the time when I become lucid.

I experience this, too. It's very unique to LDing for me and has happened almost every time I've LD'd. I don't know what it is, maybe just the sudden realisation that you are dreaming is the feeling. It is an awesome feeling.

When I realise I'm dreaming, it's like that feeling when it's really cold and you enter a very warm place, you know?

Hmm. For me it's like when I am relaxed, daydreaming and something suddenly interrupts me. So not the same but definitely specific feeling is present.

The feeling I tend to get wash over me as I become lucid is excitement, more than anything else.

The feeling I get when I lucid dream is similar to yours. It's like that, but instead of a feeling of being reborn it's more of a feeling of control. In real life people have very little control over certain events and having that control in a dream is unlike anything else and just feels great. That's what I figure at least.

Extreme happiness and excitement is what I experience in my DILDs. I have never felt such a strong feeling in waking life, as I did in my LDs. Out of this world.

Great post! I was thinking about the same.. during 6 years i got a lot of different feelings from LDing. Once i woke up and felt like i can do everything, i felt like god, i was sure i can accomplish any task and i did not fear anything. Another time i woke up with a feeling of great sadness, because in my dream my wife left me, we have no problems what so ever but i started to work on my self more and more trying to improve in everything. Once i had a bad mood when i went to sleep and woke up in a complete happiness, i was happy about everything Once i woke up with with same godlike feelings but felt that i did not want to wake up, like somebody took me from my home, my dream was my everything that day, all i wanted is to go back there. Last moment was the reason i quit lucid dreaming for a while, not because of that feeling but because i failed to understand and/or comprehend what happened during that dream.
