      Feelings in lucid dreams

      Hi all

      My simple question is:
Can we feel pleasure or pain; physically and psychologically, while lucid dreaming??!
can we have suck feelings while we know that they are not real??!

      thank u

Most definetely, while you may know the experience was in your mind, at the time it feels as real and long as any other memory. Very often after a good lucid dream I will be delighted for the rest of the day. You don't just forget flying through a hidden paradise.
Btw this should probably be in general lucid discussion where it will get more views.

Absolutely, I even read that you get even more intense feelings in dreams, as the emotional part of your brain gets overridden and there is no inhibition. The best part about feeling emotions and pain in dreams is that they feel so real when you remember them, but at the same time, you don't really suffer physical damage.

Oh and moving this thread to general discussion.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

It depends on how intense your dreams can be and for what. If you have an intense bond with someone in real, and you dream of the person as well, chances are in dreams it's 10x more.

You can 100% have feelings in dreams, but you can control them simply with thought and expectation. For example, if you get shot with a gun and think its going to hurt really bad, than chances are it will. If you are thinking "This won't hurt, I'm in a dream!" than chances are it won't hurt. Personally, in the rare occasion where i do feel pain in a lucid dream, i can just ease the pain simply by making it not hurt. Good luck!

As paigeyemps said, feelings can be even more intense than in real life. When I lucid dream, I feel this amazing feeling of freedom and elation. Once while looking out at the beautiful ocean, I woke up crying at the intensity of it. I woke up laughing once too (that was weird). Flying always gives me the most amazing feeling.

In regular dreams I often don't remember particular feelings unless it was an intense dream, such as fighting with a loved one.

I often have wonderful feelings of joy, beauty, or intense love. As far as bed feelings, I assume you can have intense bad feelings, but my dream control is to a point were I almost never have a bad dream, and never, never have nightmares. Two years ago when my wife tempararily left me, I had some powerful bad emotions in a few non-lucids, but not in any LDs that I can remember.
