      Was this a lucid dream?

Last night i was having this dream where i was holding some kind of portable ladders (i did some chores during the day hahaha) and suddenly i remember to do a reality check, so i glanced at my palm and found a strange drawing on it and realized i was dreaming, since i wrote an r on it that stands for reality. Anyway, i quckly closed the ladder but accidentaly pinched my hand while doing this , and oddly enough i actually felt pain from that pinch, do next thing i know i was awake in my beed a little scared because of the "accident" i had on my dream. My question here is, was this a lucid dream ? And if it was, how do i prevent ths type of things to happen?

That was definitely a moment of lucidity, yes! Congratulations on becoming lucid! After getting lucid, my suggestion is that you stabilize the dream. There are many techniques for that, which you can find here.

If you realize that you are dreaming, while you are inside of a dream, that is a lucid dream. Congrats

Practice for DILD and you will have more of them http://www.dreamviews.com/induction-...cid-dream.html and they will get longer with practice. Just take it easy when you become lucid, try not to get too excited, engage your senses - feel, smell, touch something, eat something... Good luck
