Please help me WILD or DILD?

      Hello,

So I'm unsure which technique would best work for me? Also not sure if I was experiencing LD, SP or False Awakening. I have experienced not so normal events where I'm aware I'm dreaming but I can't move or speak while feeling an intense energy pull my body up and fly me around in the first dream and from side to side in another 2 dreams. The moment I become aware I'm dreaming I feel this energy immediately pulling and I'm always fearful of its presence. My first attempt to LD was when I had a lot going on at one point and was physically exhausted but my mind was tired less since I had so much on my mind that day!

      Which would you suggest?

I'm guessing here, but I would bet that your experience of feeling paralyzed and pulled around by an external force came from a WILD. If that's the case, then I think this is quite common for your first few WILDs and may recur occasionally for as long as you practice. It can be frightening, but with practice and patience you'll get used to it. What am trying to say is, you shouldn't rule out WILD or any other technique based on just a few experiences.

Ultimately, I believe success comes with consistency, so the best technique is the one that matches your interests and schedule best. And then I would give a slight preference for MILD because I think it's the best for developing core skills like dream recall and visualization.

I agree, the sensations you have experienced sound like a transition into LD. You can get that when WILDing, but sometimes I notice this when having a regular dream.

For a beginner, we recommend to start with DILD technique. Not because it's easier than WILD, but if practiced right, it will prepare you mentally for WILDs.

Both techniques have their pros and cons. Happy dreams

      Induction Methods and Techniques
WILD - very detailed and excellent tutorial, mainly for WILD, but helps with DILDs as well

Hi Gab, your advice is highly insightful, thanks! I can honestly say that I'm very excited about this experience and look forward to my next attempt excitingly and without fear thanks to the support I've been receiving and to say that this is only the beginning!

While transitioning into a LD, is it possible to not feel the energy pulling and also unable to move or speak? This happened to me and with that; I saw a snake coming towards me that was extremely creepy. I was also aware that I was dreaming and It felt so real.

Your heart must become a sea of love and your mind must become a river of detachment.

It's possible to feel whatever when you are transitioning. It's different for everyone, but there are some things that are more common than others. I've tried transitioning directly without any form of movement/hallucination, I've tried floating up and down through the air and I've had creepy hallucinations, so possibilities are almost endless
