It is fine to just repeat them in your mind, but sometimes using your voice is better. If you are afraid of being heard just think the words. There is no set amount of times or a set way of doing it. Experiment.

Okay, thanks. I imagine this kind of thing is much more effective (but not required) after 5 hours of sleep like WILD?

When it comes to influencing the subconscious mind it's always better to do so when you are in an alpha state of mind. Try repeating them immediately after waking up, before going to sleep or after a session of meditation. You can also set aside 5-10 minutes a day where you sit/lie down, totally relax your body and then repeat them.

Not really on topic - but I used to take part in a meditation group, where one person would read Dharma texts - which contained a lot of repetitions, but it was a funny effect - the more repetitions, the deeper the feeling of understanding and significance became - of insight into levels of meaning, I didn't expect being able to detect - didn't even expect existed in these words in the first place.
That did me very good back then - so it's also an idea to leave the house and meditate on wise text being read to you.
