How has lucid dreaming helped you in waking life?

I'm pretty new both to Dream Views and to lucid dreaming in general, but I've been reading "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" by Stephen LaBerge off and on for a few months; he discusses the potential benefits of lucid dreaming in waking life: becoming more aware of the world, figuring out the solutions to waking-life issues, building up the confidence to resolve personal issues, etc.

After beginning to have more frequent lucid dreams the past couple of months, and after recording dreams every night, I feel much more aware of the world and pay attention to details more than I used to (which definitely helps, because I'm an accountant in the midst of tax season!). I'm just wondering about everybody else: How has lucid dreaming helped you in waking life?

It made me a happier person. Made me realize, that there is more to the world than what meets the eye.

Lucid dreaming and learning a musical instrument are two things I've discovered later in life that I wish I'd known earlier in life. Both are great ways to find out a lot about yourself.

My LDing record, if you want to hear about it, is about 4 WILDs, 1 DEILD, and the rest DILDs.

It's made me really happy because I can live out my wildest dreams! I used to daydream about doing all sorts of cool stuff before hearing about lucid dreaming, but felt a little sad that I couldn't actually do all that. But now I know better!

Lucid dreaming gives me goals to strive for; another hobby I enjoy; working on dream recall helps me improve my overall memory; dream journaling gives me an excuse to write something interesting almost everyday; I am learning more about meditating and visualization techniques to help with LDing, which also help me in other areas of my life; When I have a LD, I have a euphoric experience which leaves me feeling amazingly good for the entire next day; when I have a LD, I get to experience amazing things that are impossible to experience in real life.
      Total LDs (some very brief) = 2004: 4 * 2005: 18 * 2006: 16 * 2007: 2 * 2008: 0 * 2009: 0 * 2010: 1 * 2011: 12 * 2012: 3 * 2013: 1 * 2014: 6 * 2015: 1 * 2016: 0 * 2017: 18 * 2018: 3 * 2019: 0 (so far)

Dreaming permits each and every one of us to be quietly and safely insane every night of our lives. ~William Dement

Dream recall and journaling has helped me identify possible obstacles in my life. As far as lucid dreaming is concerned, it has also helped me identify any obstacles that block my ability to control my dreams, for these obstacles are the same ones I need to overcome in my waking life.
