Exclamation Is it possible to lucid dream episodically?

Lets say that there is a lucid dreamer out there that has been lucid dreaming since their childhood. Since that dream was able to lucid dream for so long that that dreamer becomes very skilled. Skilled enough to create an entire world from scratch, then populates that world with cities, urban sprawls, people, and creatures. In doing that the dreamer gives each of those people and creatures, a personality, physical/personality traits, pet peeves, lifestyles, etc. Now that dreamer has created a fully living world, what is that dreamer to do?

That dreamer decides to live in that world while sleeping in waking life, but the dreamer starts thinking. Things are boring or going to get boring soon, what should the dreamer do? The dreamer decides to take the world he/she created and create problems for it, such as: gangs, occasional riots, dangerous wild life attacking citizens, big monsters intending to destroy the city. All the things that needs a hero to come in and save the day, or a villain to take control. But then that itself will get stale eventually, because ultimately it is the dreamer that created all these problems to begin with. The dreamer no longer wishes to know what comes next so he/she relinquishes their power to know what they create therefore not knowing what comes next. It instead will feel like deja vu.

The dream has created a world with so much life it is bordering on being a full second life. With the dreamer now dreaming in seemingly blissful ignorance of whats going to happen they are now content. But that person knows that they're still ultimately dreaming because all they did was renounce their ability to know what they create in the dream but not the dream itself. Eventually the dreamer chooses to let go of their knowledge that they are dreaming all together, but with a single phrase that knocks them back into action again as a precaution if something dire happens like: "This world is mine!"

The dreamer has treated their world every night as if it were a new episode of a television series with themselves getting into all kinds of hijinks, saving the day, etc. Maybe even an epic 4 part series that tie in together, like tonight is going to be part 1, and part 2 will be tomorrow.

What I want to know is if all that I stated above is possible for a single lucid dreamer to do, is it possible for a dreamer to do such things to the extent that I explained above? Has anyone of you been able to attain to anything similar to what I explained?

Well its possible to an extent. There are going to be times when the lucid dreamer doesn't dream about his/her characters. My cousin use to do that and I thought it was cool. Like a bedtime story/ roleplay but your dreaming and your in it. I would even try doing it but it can get boring or annoying. It was more fun when me and my cousin would talk about it and make up story's for fun with the characters we made and already existing characters like rurouni kension. Some things we dreamed and some things we just talked at night and imagined it.Oh and she called that part of her dream world Happyplace. I too had a Happyplace. But she doesn't do it anymore I think. I don't do it as much and we don't talk as much now.-w- Also, I think the lucid dreamer has more of a chance at doing it because the non lucid dreamer won't know he/she is dreaming. So random characters/situations would'nt be changed at will.

It's definitely possible to create a persistent dreamworld with reoccurring dream characters, but to an extent like DawnEye11 said. It would be pretty difficult to create an entire world with hundreds of thousands of DCs with their own unique personalities. You should check out Hyu's dream journal, he has what he calls persistent realms which are dreamwolrds with reoccurring DCs he can return too. Here's a guide he wrote on how to create one: Persistent realms and other lucid dreaming techniques I use. - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

I don't see that as being a problem, the subconscious can deal with all of that. In lucid dreams we already don't know everything that's going to be around the corner, that's why it's so fun to explore the dream-scapes, ask DCs questions, etc. We don't know what the outcome will be.

That would make it a reoccurring non-lucid dream, not that that wouldn't be cool. I'm not sure how the phrase would work, since if you're not aware it's a dream then you wouldn't know to say the phrase. Unless you mean if you become lucid again and decide you want full control again.

If that person had a strong mind, kind of like doing mind exercises over some years to attain that level of lucidity. I was thinking of the important people having personality and others would be more npc-ish. The phrasing I thought of it being like how sleeper cells are. They aren't activated to kill without a phrase, but when it comes *snap* action ensues.

OH MY GOSH! When I read your post my heart skipped a beat.. For some time now I have been visiting this website just randomly reading dream journals and a few hours ago I decided to make a profile because I felt so frustrated and well alone. I have tried to explain to my loved ones my situation but people seem to look at me like I am crazy so therefore I don't really talk about it anymore...I think you should read my intro post in the newbie section. Basically I am experiencing something very similar to what you posted YES IT IS POSSIBLE BELIEVE ME!!!!!!! I have created a world that I visit 2-3 times a week (if I am unstressed and focused) where there are people and certain places that are always there I even say goodbye to them before I feel myself awakening.....ummm if you want to hear more of my experiencing you can message me I am really new to this forum so I am not sure what I should or should not say... Pleasant Dream!

Ok, I will try to be as detailed as possible and answer what you wrote. I've been able to LD since before I can even remember it was VERY easy when I was young now that I am 21 its more difficult not to LD but to create a certain scenario. As for your second paragraph I have not gotten to that point there are many times where when I fall asleep I enter a random dream I either go with the flow or I change things up to what I want. It would be extremely difficult for someone to create like an entire city then again nothing is impossible. As for me I have about 4 places in my Dreamworld that are always the same and I visit very often, also 3 characters that I believe are well rounded. They each have specific personalities, ill explain more later. Now as for the world starting to create problems I have not seen this happen in my world, when I am in FULL and I mean TOTALLY FOCUSED ON EVERY DETAIL 110% of the time I control every aspect of the world. There are times however that when I start to get distracted I loose a bit of control and my friends and I are thrown into a different scene or things start to fall apart, weird things start to happen. For example, in my latest DJ I LD and I had my friends with me BUT we were in a world that was overrun by zombies. Was this my doing? No, and I was not totally 110% focused if I was I could have erased the chaos and returned to one of my spots. Now in my Dream world my friends and I are I guess what you would call superheroes we each have different abilities some more supernatural than others and we always win against the bad guys lol, but that is because since I have the control I do not let anything get to me. Its important for anyone not just me to have unshakable confidence if you want to control your dream and know that you are the creator of your world. I can say however that many times it can seem like there are episodes where I can continue where I left off but things are NEVER exact there is always some sort of change. I can decide when I want to LD and what I want to LD about BUT there are many times like I said before that if I am not toally focused I slip into something opposite. I can take control but there are times where I just go with the flow of things. I can not speak for everyone here but I know that for me LD and DC to this extent is EXTREMELY AND I MEAN EXTREMELY EXHAUSTING! I have to have some mad energy to be able to summon my people and places. Sounds weird no? like what does energy have to do with your dreams your dreaming but its true it is mentally exhausting to have to control not only the fact that you are dreaming but also staying lucid keeping in mind that you will soon wake up also your surroundings. If you are not all there things will fall apart people will start to say weird things, so I have to really think about whether I want to go there tonight or not. Last week I had finals and I did not have any LD's I was SOO tired and when I would dream I would realize that I was dreaming but I didn't care I just let go.This week however I am finally getting back into the groove of things and its taking awhile but I have my people back now I am working on getting my places. I believe it is highly possible but there must be consequences I know for me at times I wake up even more exhausted and with a headache. I hope that answered what you were looking for I will now detail my characters and the 4 places I was talking about......

      Characters:
Crystal-Myself, but the perfected version of myself my guide she does not always appear but when she does there is always peace. She always has a white dress and long brown hair with blue eyes (I have brown lol)
Wade-Funny thing about this guy I have never met anyone with that name I knew the name existed but my brain randomly choose it. He always wears a green hoodie and has curly black hair. He may seem like a creep but he's very sweet and smart. His abilities is to be in all places at the same time, by using these black thumbtack looking things that are cameras. He tells us when danger is coming and communicates with Sylvia and myself telepathically. He always says that he is always 3 steps ahead of the game so true I don't know how he does it but he has those little cameras everywhere and no one seems to notice them.
Sylvia-Tall, thin athletic long blonde hair and blue eyes her abilities is strength and she uses shotguns as well. She has a thing for Wade but he doesn't seem to notice, overall she is quiet but hella strong! She always is the one to take action even before I do. She gets scared easily but quickly overcomes it. I talk to her about girl stuff.
Myself-I look and act pretty much the same as reality but my power is telekinesis and the power of words. The feeling of being able to command simply with a strong voice and see the world change before your very eyes is surreal Many times if I do not like something like lets say the other day I didn't like that my dream started out in the day I said "DAY BECOME NIGHT NOW" and instantly.

      Places:
House-A dark house that is grey its always night, two stories and has many doors almost like apartments, peaceful but a bit creepy it has this beautiful balcony that overlooks a lake and the moon is HUGE!!!! like in your face. In this place I tend to go to think and have serious conversation with my characters.
Valley-usually night but sometimes daylight, green pastures flowers here my friends and I practice our abilities this place also at times reflects an ocean. There are many hills and mountains with trees in the horizon the stars look amazing here. This is where I usually look in the mirror and if I don't like what I am wearing I change it.
Japanese Houses-I do not know what to call this place but every time I go there are these Japanese type house sitting on a lake kind of where like clan families live. There is a purple sky and its always empty no one is ever around. Here is where most battles are taken place not sure why. I remember my first time coming here I was mesmerized by the detail I looked at a counter at a bar that was marble and I started looking at all the intricate details I told myself "I never knew my brain could be so detailed!:"
School-This place is very similar to True Cross Academy's school in the anime Blue Exorcists. We live here my friends and I but it seems to only be the 3 of us. There are many doors that lead to many rooms and other scenarios but this is basically like headquarters we come here to rest up and hide for safety.

Yeah I have created worlds and done stuff kinda like that. Often I'm just content to just chill out in them though.

It's definitely possible to create your own worlds, your own dream characters and recurring things, and visit them over and over. I've made many places like that. From creating my own hell to live in with a city full of demons and people being tortured rules by a massive satan in a giant stone chair, to other bizarre planets. I've created my own homes to live out an ideal place to just enjoy myself in some beautiful place. Dream characters can even take on a mind of their own, but they are still a part of yourself though.
