I had another lucid dream! Question.

While I was in the dream, I was lucid trying to remember reality checks.. All I could think of was the hand one, but it kept failing. I finally remembered the nose plug and it worked. Does anyone else forget like that? I find it so weird that I can't remember them. I also only remember one part of the dream, I should work on my recall.

Oh yeah, forgetting waking memories isn't all that uncommon. Generally what works for me is to stop and breath a bit and then think about what I want to remember in a more calm way.

Yes, as Hukif said, try to calm yourself down and gain more consciousness. In a dream state it's normal to forget many stuff.

Dream recall not only helps remember dreams after the fact, but also increases vividness while in the dream - it is the most important part of lucid dreaming to me! But yes, it is very easy to forget things like reality checks in dream - Its like trying to remember your to-do list while on a rollercoaster. Taking a few moments to calm yourself is usually all it takes... and work on that recall.

      Hey!
I dont make reality cheks in my dreams its just something that 1. I will always forget or 2. Wont work for me.
I get lucid when saying to myself I am Lucid Dreaming. Before I go to bed I set the intentions too. SO that helps me alot.
Good luck in your Lucid expiriences

I've found, as well as others that when you write down a Dream Plan right before you go to sleep, you are alot more likely to remember what you wanted to do. Of course though that is different from Reality Checks. As you stay with Lucid Dreaming and gain more experience, remembering won't be a problem anymore. And yes, as everyone has said, recall can really help with remembering. If you start working on your recall, it will literally get better every day. To me, recall is a fundamental in order to remembering any dream. Once you get that down, you'll be able to remember 80% of each dream in no time, of course remembering 100% of each dream is possible, but it takes ALOT of work!

I agree with OUB (can I do this, 1^? ) ; I normally write my goals down the night before I plan to be lucid, as well as practicing becoming lucid during the day. This has helped me remember my goals numerous times. Sensei has a good thread on this here: http://www.dreamviews.com/dream-cont...our-goals.html

As for forgetting the reality checks, it may be that you are super excited to have become lucid, which will make it difficult to remember what you wanted to do while awake, much less when you're asleep and dreaming And remember, if you are already lucid, you don't really need a reality check
