Does This Count As My First Lucid Dream?

Hi, everyone. Last night I was in a dream but I woke up midway through it. When I woke up I was still in a semi-conscious state but I thought to myself, "I was in a dream there, I'll try and drift back into it." So I shut my eyes and visualized the scene I had just exited. I felt my body starting to go limp and I opened my eyes. I was in the dream. It then hit me that I was aware I was dreaming but I remembered the feeling of my body going limp and I thought I might have been going into sleep paralysis, so I woke up. Was this my first lucid dream? If so, can someone tell me what technique I used?
      Thanks!
      - Calum

      Congratulations!
It was DEILD technique. Any attention to physical body would lead you to stop dreaming and wake up. As only your mind wakes up and your body is still asleep (until you don't move it) then there is a chance to initiate another LD.

That's pretty amazing! Congrats! I'll have to go with Yaya's answer, as I'm not that familiar with all of the different techniques.

      Congrats calum17

It does sound like a DEILD. Which is Dream Exit Intitiated LD. When one dream ends, you barely wake up, or not at all, or you just become aware and consiously enter another dream, only this time you are lucid and aware of you being in a dream.

It's basically a short WILD. Normally for a WILD, you have to relax your body and make it fall asleep. This parts get very shorth during a DEILD, since your body is already relaxed.

I recommend to everybody to be prepared for a DEILD at any moment at night.

      Happy lucids : D

Thanks! Is a DEILD uncommon for a first LD?

      Thanks, Gab!

      Thank you for the reply!

I'm not sure how common it is as a first LD. It was my 3rd I believe. As long as you know what to expect, it's possible to have it as a first one, same as with any other method.

But I would say most common one is a DILD, when you in a regular dream and you suddenly realize you are dreaming.

      Happy dreams.
