Hi Brad. Everything takes time. Spontaneous lucids can sometimes make us feel full of energy, and ready to devote lots of time to LDing. When we do not see immediate results, we can feel disappointed.

So continue to practice. Give it a few weeks of practice before deciding something doesn't work. WILD techniques probably are not blocking you from dreaming. I would drop the alarm, though, unless you really cannot wake up without it. It can cause you to lose a dream upon awakening.

And do some DILD day work

EDIT: I read wrong about the alarm. I have not experimented with audio cues, though I personally feel they probably are not super helpful. They certainly are not necessary.
