I try a modified version of this, where essentially go to sleep early each night and wake up or at least start day at fixed time
and then on weekend and non work days I sleep in.
Of course I throw in lots of 5HTP (at beginning of night to cause rem suppression)
then Melatonin and B6 every 90 min thru the night
tossing in a good bit of Insomnia, but when ever I actually get back to sleep near the wake up time and then sleep thru it
I generally have a good chance of Lucid dream

like 2+ per weekend atm
(I also toss in some DHEA some nights)
So my version mostly depends on the fixed wake up time, lots of sleep (or supposed sleep, ie. sleep cycles even if 2 or 3 or just insomnia), and sleeping in past the wake up time to increase to huge likelihood (like 65% chance per weekend night) of trigger
